  1. A lot of the bigger names that could have taken an overage spot if the country permitted them didn't want to/or not permitted to by their clubs due to the Euros & Copa America being so close to the Olympics as well as the Olympics are not on the FIFA calendar meaning teams are not forced to give up their players for the tourney.
  2. I agree that the forward group is deeper than last year. Defense is a little iffy if someone was to get hurt but we have to have one of the tallest avg's in the league for D. Option 1: Suter - Miller - Boeser DeBrusk - Petey - Hogs Joshua - Blueger - Garland Sherwood - Aman - Heinen Option 2: Hoglander-Miller-Boeser Debrusk-Petey-Heinen Joshua-Blueger-Garland Podz-Suter-Sherwood Option 3: Debrusk-Miller-Boeser Heinen-Petey-Hogs Joshua-Suter-Garland Podz-Blueger-Sherwood Option 4: (im iffy to break up that 3rd line aka more like a 2B) Debrusk-Miller-Boeser Joshua-Petey-Hogs Heinen-Blueger-Garland Aman-Suter-Sherwood Defense Hughes-Hronek Soucy-Myers Forbert-Deharnais
  3. I saw that...I can tell you Farhan Lalji was very disappointed in the Canucks/NHL. Like they knew like 2 years in advance? I get other factors play into this but you couldn't do it on the Monday? The 5:00 time is maybe get away from the exit traffic? Grey cup starts at 3.
  4. I would love to see Demko play max 50-55 games and then Silovs plays the remaining 27-32. This number would also vary on how many back to back we have on the schedule next season. Space it out enough we dont risk overplaying/underplaying either goalie and both are rested enough come playoff time should something happen Silovs has emerged enough that we can rely on him for back to back nights.
  5. Loving it so far. NHL could learn a thing or two from their new rules as well as some of the marketing deals they have done. 100 percent this is gonna make the womans game better. They have a full time league which in turn will start to attract that european talent more and more. The talent level will rise over the years and the international game will improve even more. This league also has some great support off the ice with the ownership and partners, they have done this right! Looking forward to seeing this grow every season! Toronto needs a bigger rink though Only downside I have seen thus far has been the merch. I like the league stuff but the teams are all the same and kinda bland (other then jerseys which got released) but I'm also thinking that may change onces teams have names and logos. Looking forward to one day having a Vancouver team.
  6. Once we have a playoff spot clinched and i think if i remember right they make the games that are for sure (like game 1 &2) right away after the season tix holders. The tix will always say Home Game 1 and TBA for the opp until the seeding is finalized.
  7. Posting a day early as I will be out of town this weekend. HERES TO THE LUCK OF THE IRISH FOR THE THESE 2024 CANUCKS! CLIFF NOTES: Capitals are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights The Capitals have secured an upset victory in 18, or 37.5%, of the 48 games they have played as an underdog this season In the past 10 games, the Capitals are 5-4-1 (70.0% of possible points) Over the last 10 games, the Canucks are 5-3-2 (65.0% of possible points). Game 3 of a 9 game homestand - the longest of the season Canucks have a 35-5-7 record in games they have scored 3 or more goals TOP PERFORMERS: Canucks: Brock Boeser has 35 goals and 30 assists. J.T. Miller has scored six goals and added seven assists over the past 10 games. Capitals: Tom Wilson has scored 15 goals with 13 assists. Hendrix Lapierre has five goals and two assists over the last 10 games. LAST MEETING: 3-2W For those in blue
  8. He used to annoy me when i was kid but ive warmed up to him. He get's the crowd going which is always good. He seems more popular at lions games
  9. Def very interesting. Will be interesting to see what exactly will be offered across all the major sports. Wonder if they see the success of DAZN and are trying to compete with the streaming world as less and less people have cable
  10. I know its a new regime...but is anyone else concerned they are gonna pull a old canucks move and make a move that messes with this team's mojo? Heres to hoping they know how to tinker correctly
  11. It certainly was a tale of two worlds...I was dreading driving from Aldergrove to Maple Ridge and man was I surprised. No snow or ice but the wind was killer esp trying to walk to the car. Seeing all the videos from Van and Burnaby I was very thankful it was a normal drive home
  12. ITS GAME DAY LADIES AND GENTLEMAN! The Canucks look to continue the east coast success when they visit the New York Rangers at MSG tonight! Rangers will be looking to bounce back from a loss to the Canadians and continue to lead the NHL in wins(are now tied w/WPG) How teams have started 2024 off Canucks - 2-1 Rangers - 1-1-1 Cliff notes: - Rangers are 13-5 when they are home cookin, Canucks are 11-7-2 on the road - Rangers have 2 20 goal scorers in Panarin & Krieder - JT Miller has 12 points in 12 games vs his former club - Tyler Myers leads all Canucks skaters in scoring against the Rangers w/13 pts - Canucks have scored the 1st goal 26 times (tops in the NHL) & gone on to win 20/26 Previous meeting highlights
  13. Nothing against him but it tells you a lot about our "goalie graveyard" history esp in the late 90s/early 2000's that Clouts is 4th all time. Thank goodness its been a little more stable since then . 3 of the top 5 have been our last 3 #1 goaltenders Here's to many more in the future! He will be in 4th soon and closing in on 3rd by the end of the season.
  14. Boeser is becoming a more complete player and part of the credit to goes to Tocchet and JT. Its hard enough dealing with loved ones being ill at the best of times but imagine trying to help out and be there while being an NHL player, it def affected him as well as he had injuries that I think hadn't fully healed but he now healthy and looks likes he's having fun again. There has been games when him and JT w/di giuseppe have been our best line. As well kuzy seems to have fallen out of favour with tocchet for one reason or another so unsure when the EP/Kuzy duo will return.
  15. Def an option but i believe this is a move to get more cash to upgrade Capital One Arena which is a couple years younger then Rogers Arena. Always a threat of a move seems to work
