If Demko says he is good to go and Ian Clarke agrees we have to put him in.
Nevermind that he he is the better goalie by a mile the mental impact it puts on the oilers, is worth every penny...
If you were doubting your self facing a third strong goalie, what are your chances against a vezina finalist goalie.
Of course you put Demko in.
But there is zero pressure right now to put him in prematurely... which is a really good thing.

Of course, we do have to realize this series is FAR from over.
Oilers have home ice again, their fans will be absolutely rabid after McDavid got schooled.
And their team will be fired up to the MAX, cause they KNOW its curtains if they lose again.
So don't be surprised if its another nail-biter.

Now their coach is on the '...goalpost.' thing.
Sounds like excuses to me.
A goalpost is the part of the net where the opening ends... if you don't hit the opening and you hit the post, you don't score.
And by the way... a couple of those goalposts which they are whining about were initially deflected by Silovs... i.e. his net awareness was such that he was position exactly where he needed to be... so the puck hit him... and then hit the post and out.

Silovs... "... I'm not really nervous..."
How can he be nervous... he's got the balls to wear that shirt... after that, what's a playoff game?

I don't think McDavid and Draisaitl can keep up this amount of ice time.
They look like they're getting tired to me.
Playing 29:42 (McDavid) and 29:04 (Draisaitl) cannot be sustained... especially when they are being hit the amount they are... body can't stand up.
Either the Oilers get some contributions from their other lines or they lose the series.

Before tonight's game, I was gonna ask, if Tocchet can see during the 3rd of game 2 that the team isn't skating, are just icing it and playing 'hot potato', why doesn't he just tell them on the bench to move their feet, battle for pucks and make plays?
So now, tonight, they appear to be playing exactly the same way in the third
Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Why are they doing this again? Just confident they can weather the storm, fatigued, being outplayed or what?
Totally thrilled with the result and not complaining but it just doesn't seem like a great long term strategy if it's by design and nothing like the way we won so many 3rd periods all season long
The fact is, McDavid and Draisaitl are REALLY good offensive players... no matter how much you dislike them, they are the best pair in the league.
So they are really hard to control.
But at the same time, they do need to be more active and go at the Oilers.
I still think Pettersson needs someone else added with him... Mikheyev is better on the 4th line.
Put Blueger with Pettersson, Blueger can playmake a bit.

Artur Silovs is the backup after Demko comes back.

Aman has played well defensively... not much on the O side, but he's 4th line so that is ok.

Makeup call. For the one on Darnell Nurse.
-
Oiler top six have to be getting tired.
-
Stop with the icings.
Carry the puck out.
-
Canucks do need to start putting pressure on.
Cannot allow this pattern the whole period.
-
Silovs is playing so well, there is no longer any pressure for Demko to start prematurely before he is fully recovered.
-
Dive... as soon as he felt the stick tap... he was down.
-
Getting passive again... get on the puck carrier!
-
Key to winning the 3rd is not being passive.
#1 Canucks have to get in and forecheck.
#2 Canucks need to clog up the neutral zone and get on McDavid and Draisaitl QUICK.
#3 Do not let the Oilers set up 5-5... Canucks have to get on their checks and be breathing down their necks.

Cole actually had a good game... and that goal wasn't his fault.
Its got to even out at some point... he will get lucky and score a couple.
