  1. Good news: Silov is playing like he's a Jedi Knight with a light saber. Good news: Skinner is playing like he's Mr Bean trying to be slick.
  2. The Canucks are starting to get passive again... they cannot do that... it will burn them. They need to be on the Oilers, especially Draisaitl and McDavid all the time.
  3. This is Tocchet's series to win or lose. I still think the Canucks on balance have the better team. But coaching adjustments need to be made to deal with McDavid and Draisaitl... Can't have this collapse to the net, passive style of defending. And critically, the team needs to attack and keep the play in the Oilers end. Oilers are a cr*p defensive team if you pressure them... but if you let them have the puck and let them dance around in your end, you lose. Need to clog up the neutral zone, hit Draisaitl relentlessly, and stay on McDavid's body... don't watch the puck.
  4. I said this before... its a lot easier to hit Draisaitl than McDavid. And he is already banged up. Without Draisaitl, the Oiler PP is nowhere near as effective.
  5. I could say the same about your comment.... which was complete horsepucky.
  6. I was really expecting Tocchet to say something in his press conference about the missed calls on Edmonton. But he completely missed the opportunity to point out what were blatant attempts to injure Hughes. Instead, he responded by letting Sutherland off the hook with a line about 'tough job' or some such nonsense. When the Canucks star player has blood running down his face and everyone is telling him it was a slash, Sutherland has a duty to consult with the rest of the officiating crew and ask if they saw anything... not doing so is not doing his job. It establishes a double standard for McDavid... when any other player deliberately slashing some in the face would see minimum 4 minutes and a game. What McDavid did is not up for debate, he deliberately raised his stick and slashed Hughes across the face... its shown in multiple camera angles. At the very minimum, by raising this, Tocchet would have put Sutherland and the officials on notice and the Oilers on the defensive. Instead, he lets it slide, which means we can likely see more of the same... until one of the Canuck players feels obligated to respond. This is the same situation as we saw with Naslund, Moore and Bertuzzi. Refs have to do their job in an un-biased fashion, no favouritism is acceptable.
  7. Exactly... from my perspective, that is a deliberate attempt to injure.
  8. Yes, Mikheyev is grossly overpaid for what he contributes... just not getting it done. Worth a potential salary dump. $5 mil can better be spent on someone else.
  9. Yes, he got out-coached.... and yes, he has a problem with adjusting his system and his lineup when it is not working. But personally I think this game loss was on Sutherland.
  10. You do it when you're getting money under the table from the league to fix the series.
  11. I really hope Tocchet mentions the non-calls in his post game.
  12. Here is the list of missed penalties on the Oilers on Hughes - Late hit in the corner - High Stick by McDavid to the face (deliberate) - Interference by Hyman in open ice, puck nowhere near - Slewfoot by Kane (deliberate attempt to injure) Anyone else remember any others?
  13. No, his nickname in the locker room is 'Zee'... Tocchet mentioned that.
  14. Canucks did not have a good game. Much worse play than Wednesday night. They need to get back to their pressure game and stop the collapse to the net in their own zone. Tocchet needs to make those adjustments. Hoglander should be replaced by Podkolzin.
  15. Tocchet didn't play Hoglander for most of the 3rd period and OT. If he is not going to play him, Hogs should be benched and Podkolzin should play. I prefer him on Pettersson's line anyway. Hogs can't pass and is overwhelmed by the playoff intensity. Mikheyev had a better game and was good defensively and in the forecheck.
  16. I agree... I think Podz should replace someone. No changes on defense... yeah Cole has made mistakes, but he is still the best option. He will play better next game.
  17. WRONG. He has played well... for a player who is being high sticked, slashed, hacked, and run constantly. He had an assist and was a driver on the PP and even strength.
  18. Notice the panel didn't mention the missed calls. Typical bias by the other three... butJuice should have mentioned it.
