Ahh well...
Best thing they can do now is just to try to get one... just play normally, not a lot of gambles.. just try for one.
-
Lets hope the Oilers get complacent.
-
Bad second period... lets see what they can do in the 3rd.
-
Unfortunately PP is sucking the life out of the team.
-
Weasel McDavid didn't get away with his jump into Silovs.
-
Draisaitl choking.

Game is going well.... the first period surge has been managed... now lets start to gain control.

They get last change so matchups will be harder
It was always by committee, but Miller will have the biggest share of the minutes.
If McDavid and Draisaitl are split up, then the matchups will be easier.
I predict they will be split up to start, and then if the Oil fall behind, they will be re-united.

If the Canucks are going to win can you guys at Rodgers please start the sha na na chant?
I think there will be no need to remind them... but long way to go before that happens... 3 periods of hockey.
Can't be over-confident... I know the team will be focused.

I think the goalie who wrote this review was one who didn't make the grade.

I get so damn emotional.
LFG!!!!!!
Millsy can do it... he can shut down McDavid again... and if he does that, we will win.

Dallas really deserves to see the third round, if the Canucks are not there with them, I will cheer for Dallas, but it is a moot point because it will be Vancouver/Dallas for the next two weeks!!
Dallas will be a really tough opponent.
Really well balanced team... who has now beaten two Cup winners to get to the Conference... and seem to be healthy and uninjured.
But let's not look at them yet... need to get past the Oil.

Ian Clark is the reason for this. Not only does he help develop goalies but he also helps scout them from what I understand. We draft a goalie nearly every year. Nikita Tolopilo was just as good as Silovs in the AHL. Nobody wants to commit to goalies because of how badly so many teams have been burned over the years. Drafting and developing them is the only way.
Yes, you are entirely correct... Clark is a genius.
Not sure what they are paying him, but they should make sure he is happy.

TO I thought played their best series this year even though they lost.
Agree... I thought they would have beaten the Bruins if they didn't have the injuries and sickness.
Bruins are cursed... and deserve it.
Maybe the the ghosts of 2011 are looking down on them.

Is Skinner fully confirmed?
Yes.

I have to wonder how he would do with decent d in front of him.
He's not a great goalie. Doesn't have good positioning... doesn't have the consistency.
He is decent with his catching hand and fairly mobile, but overall not a Class A goalie.
With a really good D in front of him he could be like Corrie Crawford of the Black Hawks... who had an exceptionally good D in front of him and was able to win Cups.

McDavid going to be extra motivated with a TSN article out that even dares questioning if he’s to blame or we are to be given due credit. Season on the line and coming off a bad game - we are going to have our hands full trying to contain him. But if anyone can - it’s this group!
Yep... He is nothing if not proud... he will be super pissed at that article... and the fact he was a non-factor last game.
This is not going to be easy.... they need to withstand the first period Blitz the Oilers will put on... but if they can do that and either be up or not down by more than a goal, our good end game record should give a victory.
McDavid and Draisaitl have to be getting tired... even though they only played 23:00 min. last game... they have been getting hit regularly.

If the Canucks don't bring their A game they will not win.
Oilers will be desperate... they will be buzzing with adrenaline from their crowd which will be screaming.
Need to shut down the crowd with goals and hits.

Skinner in is an interesting choice. I don't see the value in it. I mean, he might be motivated. But I just don't think going away from a goalie playing well for a hopefully motivated one is smart coaching. Knob has been getting so much credit for his coaching. When they really just boil down to "play McDavid and Draisaitl more." And now he went from a goalie playing well, to a previously terrible one. The best coaching decision he made was swapping off of Skinner.
I expect the first few shots and the first Canuck goal to be a key regards Skinner... if he looks shaky and the Canucks score early, he will be bombed.
But he will be completely motivated to play well, and had two games to look at his own failures and mistakes.
Need to pepper him early and constantly with shots.

Canucks fans don't realize how lucky we are to have the goaltending we have had over the last number of years.
Even in the Benning/Green era we had excellent goaltending... Miller/Markstrom/Demko/Silovs... we have drafted or traded really well.
Look at those poor b*stards in Edmonton... if they had a great goalie they would have won a cup by now. A great goalie can win you a Cup even if your defense is less than perfect... the '80's Oilers were exactly that... Fuhr was good, but by no means great, but he got the job done. Oilers haven't had a decent goalie yet in the McDavid era.
Closest the Oilers had to decent goalie was Cam Talbot, but they didn't have enough patience with him and basically hung him out to dry.

6 minutes ago, Ghostsof1915 said:There was a proposal from the Engineers that did the George Massey Tunnel in the late 80's early 90's. And I thought it was brilliant.
Dig a tunnel underneath Stanley Park, 6-8 lanes. All the earth from the tunnel would go building up land in Coal Harbour. The new land would be developed into new housing.
The profit from the new development would basically help offset the cost of the tunnel. They even stated you could put in two lanes in the middle for Skytrain to run from downtown right into the North Shore. The Lions Gate would still be there but 2 lanes, and a 3rd lane for emergency vehicles only.
They may still do this... but with a Skytrain tunnel instead of vehicle tunnel.
Cars are a mistake in the downtown core... they just jam up the traffic and make the area less enjoyable.
I have a house in Mt Pleasant and ride a bicycle a lot and I can get downtown and get around faster on a bike than in a car. I used to work downtown so it worked perfectly... now I work online so I can do what I want.
I only take the car when I need to pick up something heavy or a really big grocery load... otherwise I prefer to shop more often and take the bike and an pack sack for a small load. You get fresher groceries in the fridge that way anyway.

Offensively they are not being direct enough.
If a Canuck has room, they need to take it to the net.
