My take:
Silovs did not struggle, had no chance on first 3 and 4th was 50-50. Cole had a bad 1st half but was fine after that. Petersson had his best game of the playoffs, but needs his wingers to do more. Our D is better than theirs. Our coaching staff is better than theirs. Our 3rd string goalie is at least as good as their no. 1. Bluegar is a really good player who is getting ignored on the 4th line but he does a lot of very good things on pk and defensively. Suter looks like he is finally starting to get a groove with BB and JT.
I barely noticed Perry, Kane, or McDavid for most of the game. Our team defense made them disappear.
Go Canucks Go!
silovs definitely did struggle
he was not square to a lot of shots, and his rebound control was pretty bad
i dont think its a cause for concern though
its to be expected given how much info hes taking in on the fly from ian clark
if he can get us one more win theres a decent shot Demko comes back by a game 5/game 6 and the oilers are then well and truly fked

i kinda feel bad for edmonton fans
theyve had the easiest cheatcode to win the cup
Jim Benning could have put together a winning team for them
they had SO many options this offseason and even at the trade deadline
instead they spent their assets and cap space on: forwards like Henrique, buttplugs like Perry, and barrels of toxic waste like Kane

Seems like the media pundits and oilers fans forgot that 5/6 of their defensemen don't belong in the NHL, and their starting goaltender has the mental fortitude of a banana

thinking absolute blowout tonight
nucks 6-1
in the postgame interview, mcdavid notes that it was interesting that the canucks decided to ice their nhl lineup instead of their ahl lineup

i agree i think it will be lindholm but just because that line are the biggest puck hogs that we have
tocchet is right, the best way to defend is to just hold onto the puck forever and never give it up. imagine mcdavids line will get frustrated with garland spinning and pivoting for 120 seconds straight with the puck

Defence wins championships! Toc is playing them the right way. Scoring will come. EDM can only rely on offense. Their defense is trash
thats pretty insulting to trash, do you have something personal against trash?

And Kucherov is an arrogant prick, doesn't change the fact that he had a helluva year.
youre not wrong.. but.. anus tart!!!

I don't see McDavid getting it, but I do think he's a deserving nominee. He's a big part of why Edmonton was able to climb out of the hole they dug for themselves early on and if he'd been healthy all year it'd have probably been another Art Ross win for him.
Kucherov just doesn't have the same buzz around him that MacKinnon does and I think that'll influence voting. Narratives matter, it's why being nominated at all matters, once you've been nominated you're more likely to win imo. MacKinnon is also more likeable than Kucherov.
The problem is McDavid is an anus tart.

this is key. id like to see him show up to the stadium EARLY (showing up early is what WINNERS do) and with meticulous attention to DETAIL rub his snot all over every nook and cranny of the visitors locker room. I understand Petey is not feeling well, but thats simply not an excuse. Its all hands on deck. If he cant drive himself to Rogers Arena early in the morning, he needs to solution-seek and take an uber or even public transit. Some gross snot distribution could be the key to winning the series.

this sounds like an argument from a person that is backtracking cause they put there foot in their mouth... LOL
i mean, this was your argument word for word, i think this is safe to say that the stats you provided do not reflect this:
"we are one of the slowest teams in the league... only garland and miller can attack with any resemblance of speed"
-
20 minutes ago, PeteyBOI said:
the only one of these stats thats even remotely relevant is the first one, and being basically league average is not the same as being one of the slowest in the league
these stats can also be attributed to style of play/system over raw footspeed. A more honest stat to reflect footspeed would be how many times we get burned on odd man rushes/how many times our guys are unable to get back in the play. We're far better in that department than many other teams.

i will sleep better tonight knowing that it is unlikely that I, as a non-medical professional, will ever have to encounter a prolapsed anus in my day to day comings and goings.

including the game where one went into the "w" column for us and into the "l" column for them.
im so confused where this consensus that we're gonna get steamrolled came from
we annihilated them in the first half
we were on par with them on the second half, despite them having the way easier second half schedule + us missing our starting goaltender
their D is a joke. they have ONE reliable defenseman - ekholm. bouchard is the defensive equivalent of whatever the opposite of a prodigy/savant is.
nurse makes worse decisions than peak-chaos myers (who has now become a decision making genius)
ceci kulak and desharnais dont belong in the nhl
they got lucky that LA plays a sit-back-and-trap system, they made the oilers D look really good. Attack them with any sort of pressure and theyll collapse just like they did to our transition game all season long

This is a series of Good vs Evil. We all know who the good is. The evil would include: Kane, Perry, Lucic (fine, he's not there anymore, but his stench is smeared amongst them). The evil has their own Darth Vader and Emperor (Drai and McD) but we have yoda, Luke, Han, Chewy, Obi and a cast of other heroes (Tocc, JT, Brock, Zad, EP, Huggy to name a few) that will win it for us. Just like in any good vs evil story, the good is usually the underdog. In most people's eyes, we are the underdog.
All we need now is the typical storybook ending of a good vs evil movie. The good guys will win! It may not be easy, it may not be quick but we will prevail.
Go Canucks Go!
Cory Perry is the literal human embodiment of a buttplug

After that last series, I have a tonne of respect for Nashville......they played hard, didn't play dirty aside from a couple of guys who drew the refs in intentionally, and the crowd / city were passionate but not rude. Classy series. What can we expect from this next series?!!! McFloppy?
weird i was thinking the same thing
normally i hate any team that isn't my own but respect to nashville both for their play and their fans

[ARTICLE] What it might take to sign Nikita Zadorov and if it makes sense for the Canucks
in Trades, Rumours, and Signings

i think keeping lindholm is more important than finding another top-6 winger in trade/ufa
our center depth is causing all kinds of fits for edmonton right now
when EP finds his game again he should be able to elevate his wingers + we have some prospects that may have the offensive chops to play in the top-6
