  1. Wow, the US was disqualified (in 7th)
  2. I feel really happy for the men....they executed that perfectly. And after Andre's misses earlier on, this is really got to be gratifying for him.
  3. ayfkm??!! Wow gold for the men!! I'm so happy for them...Andre the team was a beast!!!
  4. I have a few. "Wannabe writer" I gave up a lot of who I was over the years with a controlling ex who, in hindsight, scared away all my friends. Isolated me. Mocked me at times (just shattered my confidence).. Like when I had a pretty serious back injury and was in pain at times....he'd use a mocking voice and go "ohhhh, my back" like I was somehow weak. I was super fit but he held me to a high standard. Which, in some ways was good and pushed me but.....yeah. So I'm just happy getting back to "me" again.
  5. That's #2 on my list (doing a rabbit event this weekend as a matter of fact!) Also: Big casino horse better
  6. It's a good life if you don't weaken I've had a lot of struggles in life. But I always knew that what I wanted to be most of all was a mother. And I have been blessed with two of the best kids so my life has been incredible and my heart is full. It's the simple things that make me happy.
  7. Love it....Miller's "Dad"
  8. I agree. The fact that they knew but didn't even release the information is pretty sketchy. I, too, think he should have dropped out. Health (for everyone) first.
  9. Wow, foiled terrorist attack being planned for Taylor Swift concert(s). Three teens radicalized online and arrested.

ISIS cell was to "cause signficant harm". 19 & 17 year olds in custody...bomb materials, chemicals, machetes. One confessed.

Like her music is the equivalent of unbuttered toast but this is a bit much to try and stop her playing....

I have no idea about her music, but she sounds like a pretty solid woman. I do find it funny when people agree with her political stances they cheer. When they don't it's like "Why do you get into politics?"

I assume she's better than Kid Rock.

I still like supporting Canadian artists.

Love the videos of the fans still gathering to sing, exchange friendship bracelets, and spread positivity!

  10. Thing is, was this fair? I mean sure, athletes are mostly saying they were ok with him competing but did they have a choice? I think others SHOULD have been notified.
  11. https://menshealthfoundation.ca/charity-pro-camp-for-mens-health/ I went to this last year and it was a great. There is a donate button in the link for those interested in supporting the cause.
  12. They're now saying he (Lyles) tested positive for COVID early Tuesday. I don't know, maybe it's just me. But it's just Thursday....should he even be in the race? I know we've gotten used to COVID but it's still a communicable disease. Either way, a valiant effort considering. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/2024/08/08/noah-lyles-positive-covid-before-200-meters/74724674007/?gnt-cfr=1&gca-cat=p
  13. Tebogo couldn't afford shoes and ran barefoot until he could. Lost his mother in May. Gotta love this win for him.
  14. Lyles gets beat in the 200m final. Yea! Gets bronze. Tebogo!!
  15. Honestly, this is impossible to decide. If they played the same position...maybe. But both are/were equally important to this team and the next level play they bring/brought to it. I had a few interactions with Bure and...love the guy. Was super awesome to me. This is my son with him back in the day. So there's that.
  16. I love it when I'm off work and completely forget what day it is? Tuesday? Friday?

    Who cares??!!

monday, tuesday, thursday, wednesday. i only remember thursdays because a lot happens in my life on thursdays. every weekend is a long weekend to me.

  17. I think the Swiss got rattled when the Canadians wouldn't go away. Saw a few serve errors and I think the mental game came into play when the Canadians didn't roll over and die.
  18. It's kind of interesting to me that sports I'd never think of watching capture my attention when it's the Olympics. I'm really into the women's beach volleyball...first, it was the back drop that wow'd me. Then the women's team sold me on their gameplay and how they battled. So what sports are you most into? Obviously, when we're in contention it draws us in but, overall, what is the stuff that you're interested in? I'm loving the track, swimming and beach volleyball. I'm not as into the bike stuff (although, in past Olympics that wasn't the case).
  19. They rose to the occasion for sure. Facing adversity, down a set but they dug in and never gave up. Really resilient.Stayed focused and the Swiss seemed to lose a bit of composure at the end...you could see things shift as they expected Canada to go away but they didn't. Really proud of these girls.
  20. HOLY HELL, WOMEN MOVE ON TO THE FINALS IN BEACH VOLLEYBALL!
  21. Newman will get the bronze. She's very likeable....seemed to be having fun with it all.
