  1. What you think vs what those close to the team know. I know which one I'm going with. Pettersson's injury (as it's labelled). This is the second time they've gone there since the TO game (will find that clip later). Now they don't come out and say "he's injured" but they've made reference to him battling through something more than once. And you're at least partly right because once someone is struggling (through injury, illness, whatever) they will start to lose some confidence. But it's not just a mental barrier here...quite obviously. https://www.sportsnet.ca/650/canucks-central/overrated-underrated-petterssons-injury-bobby-orr-and-winter-classic-jerseys/
  2. Not even sure what this means? But to discount "facts" just isn't putting up a good argument....you can't just stick them on the ignore list.
  3. Making a list, checking it twice, gonna find out who's naughty and nice We're getting coal. Some here wait for us to fail then analyze it without understanding....it is what it is. Teams will win and lose. Outplay teams and get outplayed. Refs suck (that much we know for sure). The only thing that determines "best" is at the end of the year...when one team is the best and lifts the cup. I take it all with a grain of salt. Just like some here were convinced Miller was "gone" and state their opinion as fact, they've been proven wrong before. It's an 82 game season. We'll see what develops and where our team lands when all is said and done. The team won't slay it every game. Won't even look fabulous all the time. It's how they respond. If they unravel or regroup. It's not like "good teams" (as appointed by some) are blowing them out...they were very much in this game. It's the points that matter in the end and they gave themselves a bit of a buffer and can work through whatever it is they're battling (Petey). Our star forward is off right now...perspective. I doubt he'll be held down for long.
  4. They said on the post game after the TO game that he's playing through something (whether that be illness...he was coughing the game after, or injury)
  5. Yes because random you on the internet speaks for all NHL players. I'm quite sure Hughes' name is out there....there's a family of them which is pretty rare in itself. I don't know that this is the landslide you've dreamed up...I think they're pretty closely matched. Huggy's pretty silky smooth and elusive out there with the puck, even when pressured. Makar's also a year older than Huggy.
  6. It really adds another storyline to it all and is fun to watch it unfold. It's good to be challenged and have competition but the focus can't be on individual stats and accomplishments. I think Quinn has it all in check and puts team first. That matters most of all. Not saying Makar doesn't...I don't know (or care) enough about him.
  7. I will say that Petey has to be better (no matter what the deal is right now). He's a star player going for a big contract and a drop off in play doesn't bode well in that. Sure, he'll regain his form but the time is now....the team can't afford to hit a skid and lose momentum. But he will.
  8. The refs might have been also factoring in a missed call where he swiped Brock's feet out from under him at the blue line prior to the net front stuff. Dangerous....and considering Hoglander's deal, warranted to factor it all in. Plus...crosscheck to the neck/head area just isn't cool. Reffing was atrocious on both sides though. Very hit and miss.
  9. I don't do it this way...."a" game doesn't make a season. This team is working its way there....I mean, Av's lost 7-0 and 8-2 recently. Every game has different dynamics that can result in a win/loss.
  10. Oh, just checked back to address those who are admiring the powerhouse Av's. Who, in their last 10 games were 5-5-0. Two of those losses being 7-0 and 8-2. I'm not convinced. I like my team better.
  11. Out, this place falls apart after a loss. People who don't believe in this team show up in droves. Cheers y'all.
  12. You flip too quick. Give him a chance to work through it...he's earned that.
  13. They're not the best team in the league though.
  14. HE' S HURT and playing through something. Not enough to take him out of the lineup but enough to obviously hamper his play. They made reference to it in the post game over a week ago. Probably can get off his case now because you know he'll light it up again soon.
  15. Nope, I don't buy it. They're at home and feeling comfortable....they got some momentum earlier courtesy of the refs. F them. We're right there with them. What are you on about "said sorry to Tocchet"??
  16. Their announcer is annoying as hell. Wanna be Murdoch.
  17. Soda is weird to me. Like it belongs in the 1950's. It's pop here.
  18. There's just no place for this in hockey. Period. I thought this was what went down, but then they said the puck hit him. F'n Avs as dirty as they ever were.
