  1. Deslauriers... yes please. He would have plummeted Manson in Denver, after his crap... We are so in dire need of somebody who can take the fight, to the opposition.
  2. Does it really matter, what exactly means? He likens him to McAvoy, which I'd say is a pretty good measuring stick. If this is how he turns out, I don't think there will be a single unhappy punter amongst us all. it was a great pick...
  3. So true.... think folks are either 'fishing' or have been disappointed so many tines recently... Its the best run in a long time, don't let a few losses ruin the feel good factor amongst the fans...
  4. No chance... for a loan of a 36year old UFA scoring at .5 ppg.....never... PS. No idea if it has to do with Canucks, just throwing out a thought...
  5. Don't think that is what he is saying... Think he means, that Tom is one of the top 4 D in world juniors. Who is best, is to be determined.
  6. 5-2 Canucks Mikheyev gwg PS. Massive shout out to @smithers joe for the sacrifices in the name of the greater good... Looks like the tactics are working
  7. Could Perry help get Petey scoring again? Alternatively, he could play on the 3rd line... Beau for Perry? maybe add a sweetener. It is obviously just a short term thing with both contracts expiring next year and at same value?
  8. Agree 100%... I do want the bruisers to be able to play as well, and they are expensive. So yes you have to draft size... Watching morons being smart in the penalty box towards a non fighter like Boeser is embarrassing, and I really wish we had somebody to tune him in next time... Only reason he behaved like that, was the knowledge of no REAL response from our team... It was the same shit with Marchand, Matheson, Keith etc etc etc... Turn the other cheek only works so long. If we get to the show, Petey and Quinn Hughes will likely be sidelined very quickly, by some donkey... Only real response is to go toe to toe with them, and let them pay the price, you run one of us, we'll run one of yours... And when you get out from the penalty box, we'll tear you a new one. Benning knew that, and even tried to address it by getting Gudbransson... unfortunately while he could throw them, it was all he could, and it's hard to have a D Man that struggle that bad. A rugged winger will maybe not stop the opposition from taking liberties, but the victims will be much taller, knowing there are others to answer the bell for them... And yes Slap Shot is a must see film for anyone, who loves hockey...
  9. A bit surprised about the rant against our 3rd line players... Bar for a bit of puck luck, they have held their own, and several times during the last 3-4 games been if not the best, then close to the best of our lines... Garland, Joshua, Suter/Bluger are an ok 3rd line. PS. We still need a top 4 RHD and a Rugged winger hopefully with speed.
  10. Absolutely embarrassing... it was blatant pens, every single one of them. Cross check Boeser in the face and complain he goes down... Big man Manson, cross checking lady bing in the face... Really want us to sign a boy that can take them on... To see Makar battling Petey behind the goal also really wanted me to see one of the other guys run him over... big time.
  11. 5-2 Canucks Joshua My biggest achivement in life.... waiting for my invitation to the ROH cheers @Goalie29
  12. Why would you play Hughes with some AHL plug? 'You are our best player, and we make you Captain, now go sit in the back of the bus'... Wouldn't mind Miller between Mika and Kuz, but I fear for EP, if he plays with Brock and Hogs. Petey will be a target as neither Hogs nor Brock are strong enough to stand up for him or themselves. A player like Lafferty would be good if Brock plays with Petey.
  13. Been saying the same for some time. A rugged winger (not a plug), that can play up and down the line up, preferrably pacey, and a top 4 cost controlled 4rhd. 3C can be covered by Suter and Bluger if needed, but the aforementioned two is a must. Hope they pull the trigger as soon as any opportunity presents itself. Lets not waste the two year opening from the OEL buy out, by standing pat. Get it done JR/PA...
  14. They are acting like spoilt babies... The refs were more than kind to them...
  15. Need to make them eat their words... I hope it lights the fuse on Miller, and he goes even higher, than he already is... He showed his true qualities yesterday.
  16. On a side note, what a whiny assed team Avs are... every single decision, they were crying about. 2 blatant trips and a cross check right in the face... Anyway, good test, just didn't get the bounces.. the3-2 goal settled Avs and it was tough getting back after that. Played very well and on another day, they win this game... Does anyone else think Juelsen looks like a poor mans Myers, or at least like Myers before Tocchet got a hold of him? Strong and decent plays followed by sequences, where the game just seems to pass him by... On to the next one.
  17. Probably right, but the desperation was warranted... He may be playing as a top 2-3 Dman just now, but he wasn't here, and if he continued the same level here as was prior to, we wouldn't be pushing for play offs... We need playoffs now, while we still have Petey, QH, Kuz, Brock and Demko.. (and before Miller start to go backwards, should he do so...)
  18. This is so true... And yet. Remember when the 3 players were on the team, everyone were screaming for them to be traded/burried/sent to Robidas Isl (or worse)... Remember the strange feeling, when Benning made the trade or happiness mixed with fear of OELs slowed down playing... Unfortunately those fears became real, when he didn't play anywhere near to his contract... But yes, that would have been far better overall, had we just been riding the pine for one more year.
  19. Just make it even sweeter, when we spank their bums....
  20. While this is true, how long is a string? They could have waited to the end of his contract, and have had zero retention, but when are they going to start the push. Which player would we get rid of to cover his $7.2M... ? The team was losing, and losing and losing.... Petey's contract is coming up. Are we really willing to wait and hope is happy to continue losing? Miller gets older each year, Demko and Hughes 1 year closer to FA... I am sure all the pros and cons were weighted up against one another, and with heavy hearts accepted, that despite the massive cap penalty coming up, it was still better, than dragging their heels and continue with OELs Cap hit... In 2 years we'll know, if it was the right decision, when they have to find players to stay competitive with the recapture penalty... I am just delighted, that we at present have a team that is competitive.
  21. Absolutely... we are so freaking lucky he has turned up the gas. The contract he signed was looking at around 70 points a season or maybe slightly better... Remember the unhappiness around some quarters about his contract... Even if he turns into LE the last 3 years of his contract he has more than earned the right to do so... He is exactly what's needed to run this team. We are so lucky to have him signed on this contract. It's daylight robbery... He does everything, battles, scores, stands up for anyone, goes to the hard places, PKs and puts points on the board for fun. He is basically driving his line, and on most teams he'd be considered a 1st line C... We are golden with his contract...
