  1. Doubt we'd get anything in return for Beau atm... at his cap hit...
  2. True... But regardless he will be history next summer... either let go, traded or what ever.... He will not be a Canuck. If they can trade him now for an expiring RHD would be great, but doubt it as his value is close to zero if not negative just now.
  3. Beau will be history regardless... 100%
  4. He's mad, cause the Canucks keeps winning, and now he has to sign a long term contract................................................................... Or more likely the 2 empty netters.......
  5. Well the media are the first to fuel the fire... They sell papers so its understandable. As for the bloke in the red shirt (i actually loved the top. Have one myself), I think he will be massively embarrashed. Or he could be a donkey who runs around and tell everyone, he was part of the riot... as a badge of honour... Regardless, what an embarrashment.
  6. If he hates being in the spotlight, a Canadian market is probably not the place to be.... The media is like a pack of hungry wolves... Hope it won't ruin it for him and us....
  7. Like what we are hearing/seeing, but as @JIAHN says, its a small sample size... think we've been there before, lets see after 20-30 games...
  8. Woo was my favourite pick, when he was drafted... Doesn't look too promising for him although, you never know. Don't have a favourite now, as don't want to curse any of them.... but man that is some start for the boy. And how we could do with him and Tom to make it...
  9. Could easily end up being a question of, who signs the most team friendly deal between the two... Like Brocks game this season, but he has been injury prone and that might move the needle as well... Agree, at some stage that is likely going to happen, if Lekki continues his progress...
  10. Don't like the idea of retaining, unless.... Its a deal is lined up for a big winger or rhd that will come in for the same length as Garlands contract and no more than Garlands contract minus the retention. If it wasn't for cap restraint I'd even do it with the retention on top, if we could fill a need. This has nothing to do with Garland, but more to do with filling in needs. Garland is redundant on the 3rd line. And especially him and Beau together on the 3rd line makes no sense. I'd o for Beau as well or instead, but then they have the problem again next summer.
  11. I still hope Podz can be one of the wingers, although I doubt it'll be this season. Bains maybe too... But even if the price goes up, getting g rid of Garland and Beau should free up a bit $ to at least get one winger and a rhd... If we want to make a push, I think, we really need this.
  12. A RHD and a couple of rugged speedy wingers (not even that concerned about their ability to put the puck in the net... ) Just hard to play against wingers, that can make us play on the front foot instead of being on our heals, when the heat gets turned on... Yes make it happen...
  13. Agree with you on this. I think, part of it is, Tocchet is changing the way we play... We were often outworked under Bruce, and I think thats one of the issues that Tocchet highlighted. it takes time to get out of old habits, and a few of the players will not fit in under this system... get a couple of rugget wingers (duracell bunnies) to play on the 3rd line (think most of us had hoped one would be Podz), and a better rhd, and I think we will see a change. We need to keep the tempo us. There were lots of talk about flu etc, which would mean fatique. That together with travelling sleeping in hotels etc, won't help much. The real tests will be the next homestand, whete there really will be no excuses.
  14. yes and no... agree its concerning they could game manage a 2 goal leas, but Mika they did step up again after Panthers drew level. There is no doubt we are needing tough to play against players... especially on our 3rd line, but management are working hard to off load 1 or 2 of our highly paid wingers. Quite sure Brock is off the trade list ,now that he has started to score again. Still need a better rhd man, than what we have, but beggers can't be choosers.... As for being a good time to play them, yes true, but it is, what it is... If folks thought we were gonna end top of our division they are kidding themselves. Its a process... baby steps, but heading the right direction. last year the games in Edmonton and Miami would have been losses.
  15. I get what you're saying... but Bolts and Panthers are legit challengers so wiuldn't call them soft. But ok they are refreshed before the games personally I'd consider between 4 and 6 points from a 5 game road trip with sll the travelling a success, so in my book the achieved that. cheers.
  16. On a side note, to all those, who didn't/don't understand why Canucks dumped OELs contract despite being hung up on it for years to come, instead of riding it out, maybe that interview will put some light on it.... Petey wants to win... not in maybe 5+ years... If Vancouver doesn't show ambition he'll go somewhere else that has a chance to do so... And thank the almighty he wants to win. Isn't that, what it is all about. Make no mistake, he is not in Vancouver to just enjoy walks in Stanlwy Park...
  17. Peteys mum and dad was attending both games in Florida... "Elias, dad and I really like it here in Florida with the lovely beaches and nice holiday homes. And it doesn't rain that much...and you don't pay that much tax neither... " No..... I don't believe that neither, but you just never know....
  18. Soft and soft.... home opener against Soilers followed by 5 game road trip against Soilers and both florida teams... I know, no back to back games, but I wouldn't call it soft ?
  19. McWhine probably still trying to figure out, why they got hammered by Canucks.... 'I still find it odd they put in their back up goalie with 10min to play.....'
