Just the fact he helped the team reach the second round, made it worth while. Lets not forget how close we were to sending the Oilers into darkness, and it could have been us preparing to play Panthers in the final. It was definitely a gamble worth taking. Before the season started, we talked about being a wild card to the play offs, and any play offs would be gravy. These times don't cone around too often, so if management can smell blood, they got to take the chance.

Its not as if PA and Tocchet don't talk to one another... If Tocchet indicated, he wouldn't play Petey with Lindholm, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Should be zero chance they offer a 3C 7x7 contract... Only other way could be re-united the Lotto line and have Lindholm centering the second line in some shape or form. But honestly don't see them offering Lindholm 7x7 unless its to play with Petey.

It was a small sample size, and Petey was not at his best... Petey on to the wing (believe he was the C while the played together)... Lindholm brings some steeliness to a line with Petey, while obviously able to play tough hockey... He could alternatively play with Miller, but don't see that, and on top of this, in case of injury to either petey or Miller, he can slip straight into the line up... I was very impressed with lindholm during the play offs, and he does drive into the dirty areas... He, of course, can also play as 3C, but I agree that is a lot of money to spend on a 3C and don't see them planning on this being the plan.

Don't see him playing 3C, but likely on Peteys line...

Let's just hope not ... but yes you are likely right... The idea is, when you build a team through the draft, it likely takes 7-8 years+ before those players can start to carry a team... and perhaps even longer before they can carry a finalist... Hopefully folks will remember that, before calling the young men busts after a couple of seasons... There are the very special talents, but they don't come around that often...

The whole concept sounds weird. Its maybe for folks, who wants to see players fly up and down the ice and score 30-40 goals.... it'll become boring very fast... or at least for folks, who likes to watch hockey now. A bit like watching ASGs.... boring

Well in the end everybody is there for a tryout... He's proved beyond doubt that he was good in his 3rd line position with Joshua and Bluger (later Lindholm), but lets not forget that a year ago, folks were speaking about sweeteners to get rid of him... I don't dislike or disrespect him, but I want to build on the good thing happening just now, not just move sidewards or backwards.... On a side note, don't know that much about Morrow, but sounds interesting... Would he be ok to step straight into the line up as a top 4, or would we still need another player for Hughes?

I'm not sold on Garland as a top line player... he was tried before in the top 6, and it didn't work, all be it some time ago... He may end up being tried as a top line player by default, but I'm not sold on it....

Never realised how arrogant and entitled Oilers two stars were until we played them.. Their dismissive and belittling behaviour towards Canucks, did it for me... Started at the start of the season, when they got spanked... I hope, they won't win because of that, and because of TSNs commentary and NHL networks sickening love fest for them... They are totally blind to any dive or infringement committed by Oilers... So despite Tkapuke plays for Panthers... The lesser of two evils... On a side note, seeing how Oilers are in the finals, it has to be mentioned, what an incredible job PA did, putting this team together in a short space of time... Big and tough D, got players in that could PK so the worst PK in the league, was really strong (just see LAs and Dallas record v Oilers PP)... It may take a few years before we get the same opportunity, although hopefully not... Canucks or nobody...

Would be happy to see Dry sign for Bruins... Hate him so he'd fit in well there, and would love to see all the Oiler tears, when he is off...

When Canucks does it

While McD and Dry may be on another level, there are 10 fwd and 6 on the team... The teams haven't been good enough to take advantage of the time playing v the rest of the players... God I despise the arrogance shown by the two of them... They don't deserve anything... whiny bitches...
