I think we expect all the players to be stars earlier than ever before, and while some do, a lot don't until their mid twenties...

It seems to be the norm, that you get a reputation of being a great player, and then you just non stop ask for decisions to be given and they actually start giving them to you... Its pathetic, and the league should start to stand their ground... Prior to play offs it was stated the league would be hard on diving... Have anyone here seen a single penalty for embellishment handed out? I haven't seen all the games, so I may be wrong, and secondly has anyone seen any embellishment been handed out to the serial diver of Oilers?... The refs all know, who they are, but they are doing nothing... looks rigged... as usual... Have been happy to see the refs let them play, but still they suddenly call a penalty for simple infringement that has been let go throughout the game... Wish the refs would stick to their guns...

Not fantastic numbers, but still fairly young (23)... How old were the Sedins? McCann, and our very own JT Miller.....? JT Miller at 23? career high of 22 goals and 43 point... also while playing for the Rangers... Quite similar numbers... Naslund at 23? career high 22 goals and 55 points, followed by 21 goals 40 points and 14 goals 34 points... Think there will be a lot more interest than expected should he be made available...only last year everyone was writing Lafreniere off as well...

It would have... He was good at Vancouver, but the $ he asked for was above, what they could fit into their plans... they did offer him a contract. I'd say Horvat in the bumper position would likely have sorted our PP problems... And he was rarely injured, which matters come play offs...

OEL @ $7M is likely the issue most have had... having Soucy playing OELs position @ $3M is a better allocation of the money... Even Zadorov @ $4.5-5M would be a better allocation despite the penalty... And I was never a OEL hater... He had a good season on the Myers pairing, but at way too much money.

If Hronek gets sent out... Myers is a must... Can't go into the season without a red except Juulsen...

Yep would be good, but on the other hand, management knows that 1st rd picks can be more valuable than normal because of it... JR didn't hang around and used lots of picks... time will tell if Allvin is different... Wouldn't be surprised to see the 1st in play...We are in a win now mode...

hmmm.... Not necessarily.... If you need money to improve else where, or get a great return, you may consider pulling the trigger on a $5M 3rd line player... A year ago we couldn't give him away and folks were talking about sweeteners... He will never have a higher value in a trade than now... He has been more than stellar, but $ likely needs to be found somewhere, and somebody will pay the price...

Cheers, yes I'd be in for anything that stops this ridiculous diving crap some seem expert in doing... It is frustrating and take away the one thing hockey have over lots of other teams sports, which is integrity... I've always watched lots of soccer from my upbringing and do still follow it, but hockey is my antidote to all the garbage diving and play acting going on during football matches... The best thing (and probably the only good thing about VAR) was the ability to determine if players dived... Prior to VAR players in Scotland got an auto magic 3 days suspension, if they could be seen to be taking a dive that the ref hadn't spotted during the game.... ie going down without being touched... It stopped it within weeks... No team wants their players sitting in the stands for a game or two, because they dived... Now of course if a quick review could somehow be implemented, it would be favourable, however I hate VAR for the time it takes, and it kills the intensity of the game... I don't want anymore stoppages in the games, if it can be avoided... But yes anything to stop this pathetic cheating would be welcomed by me...

Yes it would be part of a bigger deal... my question would be if Necas would good enough for us to take the chance on JK... its a long contract, and even though its "only" about 800K each year to buy out, should that be necessary its a 12 year long penalty... don't fancy that at all.

Yeah I'm not sold on JK but he does lean more towards a Tocchet style of hockey than our speedster with hands of stones. Yes it will be an extra contract we may not need, yet if it can bring us Peteys winger (Necas).... maybe?

So I guess Mark Stone is useless as well, as he only had 3 goals during the play offs after less than a point per game during the regular season? And what about Jack Eichel.... he has had 3 positive +/- seasons with Vegas and prior to that only 1 + season in Buffalo.. He is barely a point per game player and gets paid $10M... Petey has never had a negative +/- season, and even during a "poor" season Petey is still above 1 point per game pace You are so far out to lunch its unreal... Talk about cheery picking and goes on to say "19 points came in the first 10 games. 12 came in a 4 game stretch in January."..

Leading up tp the the ASG he was on course for another 100+point season.... Talk about cherry picking...

If he scores 100-110 points, I'll have no issues with him vanishing for a 10 game stretch...

boy had 102 points last season and nearly 90 this season (on course for over 100 until injured apparently)... so how the f is that the NHL worst contract territory for a 25 year old... Nylander was signed to a $11.5M contract after being barely a point per game up until his 27th birthday...

Will Miller be 100% better in 2-3 years?... Why is that so hard to comprehend. You are not paying Petey for what he has done up to now, but for what, he is predicted or at least hoped to achieve by the time he is 28 onwards...ie his prime years... Did you watch Petey during bubble, when he WAS a fragile teenager? Management jumped to gun, but 90%+ of the fan base wanted this deal concluded prior to the play offs, even though Petey wanted to wait... He had over 100 points last year and was on course for it this year as well until he got injured... Guess we'll see next year, when we are in the play offs again...
