  1. If you can get Lindholm for 7 yes. But doubt we can het him at that price. He'll look at Peteys money and want more than $7M AAV...
  2. Its like re-opening old wounds.... We could have had Ehlers or Nylander instead of Jake.... and it was not as if they weren't known quantities... I sooooo wanted Ehlers...
  3. Spot on Alf... Imagine following: Petey"yeah I have a problem with a broken rib in my left hand side and my right hand index finger is also broken..." Have a wild guess when 75% of Oilers will be chasing him with hits....
  4. This was being discussed as well prior to the playoffs... its all a learning curve... A lot of these players aren't battle hardened play offs performers one of the problems not qualifying year after year.... They are learning now. Where ever it takes them, nobody know, but the lessons learned can't be gained any other way.
  5. Myers at $3M?.... for 2-3 years Probably gets offered more elsewhere though. Actually think Hronek gets replaced with a Tanev like player...
  6. Yeah mentioned that i another thread... Hope the Canucks have a sports psychologist to help him, if its an issue between the ears... As for saying yes, don't think he meant to throw anybody under the bus, but not the right answer... in saying that, if he says no, then its because he is useless... We all know that is not the case. I think he feels cornered and in general hates to do interviews... Not everyone does good interviews...
  7. What a load of daft questions... Do you feel bad that you don't play as well as we know you can? Did you sleep well after last nights defeat? Would it be better with better line mates? etc. etc. etc. Are these clowns actually getting paid to ask that stupid questions? He hates interviews, and struggles to deal with, whatever he is going through... Who wouldn't if you are normally top of the pops... He'll brake out eventually... Except for Quinn Hughes, when was the last time, we had a 25 year old playing as well as Petey does (normally does)?
  8. Yes they did, and thank god they did... this is a lot more fun, than hanging around the bottom of the league discussing draft picks and prospects.
  9. Yeah something like that is what I would want as well....
  10. Been reading most of the comments on here, and feel a lot of great fans seems to forget, what their predictions prior to this round was at the start of the round... I had Canucks in 6 or 7, and seem to recall the majority said similar... Canucks are learning the ropes, and maybe Tocchet as a coach too, and this was never going to be a cake walk... The series is 2-2 and we are well in it... just keep the trend going w-l-w-l-w-l-w and we are through... The boys can do much better, and I'm sure they'll be well up for it Thursday.... pay back day... Not sure how Kane doesn't get a call for a cross check to the face of Myers that draws blood...but guess it is, what it is... Hanging out certain players doesn't work... A few years back it was JT that was being hounded, then it was Brock and now its Petey... Let them find their feet and be happy that we actually looks like a proper team again... From the start of the season to now.... amazing improvement... hopefully it continues...
  11. Would hate to see our 2 best face off guys on the same line... Those two are supposed to play as much as possible against McD...
  12. Yeah maybe... nevertheless, I refuse to believe a top player and competitor would down tools during the SC playoffs... Its the pinnacle of every hockey players career unless they win it... If Petey is unhappy with the coach, we'll find out soon enough, cause he'll get traded if that is the case...
  13. Ok, firstly Peteys agent asks for a sum... Nobody held a gun to JRs or Allvins head to sign him at that number. Secondly, Petey didn't want to talk contract until the off season Thirdly, Petey is not getting paid $11,6M for what he does just now... He is being paid that now, because he signed a long term contract at the age of 25 before he enters his prime, so the Canucks can keep him through, what will hopefully be the 8 best years of his career... Canucks could have offered a 2-3 year deal at lesser AVV and hoped he would not go elsewhere, should he continue to improve... Its a gamble, just like signing Joshua to a short contract and now wondering if we can keep him... Finally, do we know, if he just plain suck, or perhaps has other things are going on in his life, injuries or the likes? Its not that long ago one of our other stars went through a traumatic time, and 50% wanted him traded for a bag of pucks... You've seem to be having it in for Petey for sometime now... .
