If they really wanted the finals to be a showcase, they are more likely to want their superstar poster boy to progress... especially since Matthews is gone. So if, and I don't think there is any reason for them to 'choose' a winner, I think it would favour Oilers.

Nah you were saying they were a championship team... and showed their banners to prove it... The Oilers of 2024 have proved nothing yet...They have more experience than us, and that is an advantage, just..... They are not a two persons team, but if you cancel out those two... you are half way there... We have a deeper line up (providing Petey decides to go full Tonto).... And we have a far better D than Oilers as well + perhaps better Goaltending...

Don't think they are insecure, and nobody doubt McD and Dry are fantastic players, but lets see how our boys fare against them, before we put the flag on half mast... This could be the McD/Dry show and good night Vienna, but could just as well become the Miller, Hughes and Petey show and bye bye Oilers... One thing that has happened under Tocchet is, the team has learnt to play defensive hockey... Huge difference from a year and a half ago.

I don't care for anyone outside Canucks... If Canucks are out, I may take a liking to any team playing one of these Rangers, Bruins, Blackhawks, Toronto, any Alberta team, Kings, Sharks, Wild and Vegas.... But in general F em all... Go Canucks Go.

Yeah I actually think this will be an advantage to us... We will not have the pressure of expectation on our shoulders... the first 2 games in Vancouver are going to be extremely vital... If Canucks taks them both, I see Oilers crumble under the pressure, but..... I fear for the reffing... If the refs start to call soft penalties like minor hookings, borderline interference and hits, then I do fear for our chances... Our PP has been almost non existent, and that is bad news, if it becomes special teams battle...

No idea how this is going to go, but I'm going for Canucks in 7, but hoping for Canucks in 6... Our PK was magic against Preds, but Oilers are a different animal... or at least since Christmas... Can Lindholm and Miller contain McD, we could take this. However if the refs are going to call ever hook and grab, I fear for our chances... Hopefully we can stay disciplined and hammer McD endlessly... And we need our PP to get hot again....it's a must...
