  1. They may / may not add before deadline, but don't want to blow it all getting stuck in cap hell with no prospects after the plays offs... We don't even know, how well we mesh up come play offs time... Maybe Kessel and tough player, but that would be sufficient for me... I'd even be ok with nothing...
  2. Massive own goal by Aquilinis
  3. Lets just say I'm very happy here amomgst a huge bunch of good and great lads and ladies... I spend so much time hete now, I hardly have time to do anything else. Shear joy
  4. Don't see Suter not playing... If anyone goes to the Press Box it'll likely be Podz, and Suter on Millers line... He earned it.
  5. Absolutely... Have been singing his praises all season. To me he is the unsung hero of the season... Never expected him to become as solid as he has... A proper stay at home Dman. He has definitely benefited from the coaching staff of Foote and Gonchar...
  6. Brilliant pictures... Looks like you had a blast... Enjoy
  7. Lets just hope it isn't so... And if it is, thank JR/PA for being able to let him go without being stuck with a long term contract.
  8. Yeah a massive thanks to you all especially all the boys and girls putting in the effort to keep this going. Very impressive, and to be honest, very mentally healing... was lost when they said CDC was closing down...
  9. Lets just slay the last dragon tonight and show the world, we're in it to win it... Fuck Vegas and the cheating garbage they pull every year... Bettmans mafia at work...
  10. Agree here... I've seen endless stories written with the joy of hindsight about Forsling... But how many prospects do you keep? All of them? Nah... if Forsling had looked like world star from the start. they wouldn't have traded him, but they needed a player that could play in the line up so they took a calculated gamble... Can say it was the result of wanting to compete without really having a team to do so... Would anyone have been upset if they traded Jurmo 2 years ago? or Woo etc... some make it, most doesn't... Hunter may be another Forsling, but are we going to stand pat, while our window passes us by like ships in the night, mainly out of fear that a player may become a star?
  11. Thing is even Gillis knew they needed a complete reset, but FA vetoed it... Had they bitten the bulit in 20113-14ish and started all over, we would have been ready to compete far quicker, than we were... Benning came in and said we could turn it around quickly, but I think it was Aquilini, who said, that was how they wanted it... I don't slander Benning much, as we live in a world were we have the benefit of hindsight. We all know, how it should have been done, but even the most supportive fan wouldn't have expected us to become this good so fast. Last year (or 2 years ago) the tank emoji was introduced, as it looked like we were needing to start all over, but JR true to his word, got a new GM he had worked with before, and introduced a front office even the most negative posters found impressive... A new coach followed (in a disappointing way), as the previous coach was liked by all the fans, but again despite all the negative tones as to how we would play under him, JR/PA again hit head of the nail, and we started to look like a proper team, and not just a team looking good going forward. And then all the trades an pick ups has followed... lets note belittle how busy the front office led by our GM has been, leading up to this last week, I believe half of all the trades in the NHL had been conducted by the Canucks... Something suggests they new exactly, what they wanted, and they have been good at getting it done... without doubt JRs many contacts within the NHL clubs has made it easier to make the trades... This is not about winning trades, but getting trades done that fits both sides... Something I think Gillis screwed up, and maybe just maybe one of the reason the NHL made the Luongo rule, as deeply unfair as it was, could be the other GMs not being too happy with Gillis... (This is of course all speculation and a couple of other team also got hit with penalties, but one can only wonder if an original 6 team had signed Luongo to that contract, would it have been the same?). But I don't see the NHL help team out, that doesn't have the same benefits from lower tax, so it feels like vindictiveness aimed at Vancouver... Now 2 years after JR took over as president, we are competing to be number 1 in the league... what a great turn around from sucking the previous decade, so big mistake and big mistake... if we go into the play offs and get through even just 1 round, I would say, this is a massive success... And who knows, maybe we get more? And we are still talking about the start of our cores success... no reason to believe we won't continue to be a playoffs candidate... Until there is a valid reason proof of a fuck up, I think JR/PA deserve the right not to be criticised, or at least at a lesser level.
  12. Nice.... You'll get a job at the NHL head office. Bettman needs good brains to circumvent the rules in favour of his little mafia project.
  13. Year thinking back at it, its vomit worthy... So f'ing corrupt it beggars belief.
  14. Doubtful Hronek would have been had for Kuz..... Problem was not keeping Bo, but at what cost... The offer they handed Bo, was rejected and they made decision... the Hronek trade came along afterwards, and seeing how this team has performed this year, its hard to argue against their decisions... If it starts to go pear shaped by all means, its time fire the guns, but so far the results have vindicated their choices... Most of the professional signings have worked out, drafting has been good and the results have been great as well, sooo.... Regardless amigo, we all see it, as we like, and very rarely is everything perfect, so all good
  15. Without arguing for or against, a 30 goal scorer? last year maybe but not this year... Think its limited, how much you can squeeze out even at TDL for a player in the press box half the time and not scoring. + you've got to do a deal, when it presents itself, if that the player you want.
  16. That is it... While we want RHDs, brilliant drafting gave them trade capital... To be fair atm Lindholm hasn't taken the world by storm since his arrival, however drafting this well in the lower rounds gave them the freedom to use some of the prospects in deals... JR said him self a few months ago they had too many prospects, so they wouldn't worry about the prospect further down the line... I do however believe it would take a lot to move (almost unmovable) our two top prospects... our future rhd and likely top line winger are hot commodities and needed to keep the cap under control the next 4-5 years... And yes, Woo was my favourite prospect when drafted, but while he didn't really take the final step, Benning should have drafted more Ds and rhds in particular... especially being dman himself you'd have thought he knew the value of RHDs.... Best guess is, he felt Dmen took too long to mature, and he was on a strict timeline to make the team competitive again.... FA were part of the problem as well... This is why the job done by JR is so impressive. Not only are we competitive but we are having good prospect in the system... the future is bright.
  17. It would hurt to trade either of our top 2 prospects, and I don't see it happening, as I said earlier, Willander is our future top 4 if not 2 rhd... they are not easy to get your hand on, which we know for sure, as we've paid dearly for average players... But you got to look at everything... Podz will be in play, like it or loathe it, but he is 22 now... in a deal for Crouse, he will be considered...
  18. It would fit in well with the timeline going through the harder part of the cap penalty... He'll need resigned at the same time as Quinn so, we'll have him at least 2 years, before they have to think extension (money available) or trade... He'll be 28 at that time, so should still represent decent value... Byt damn it'll hurt to let go of either of our two top prospects... Especially Willander, as we all know, how hard it is to get RHDs...
  19. It would be worth considering for sure... My concern with giving up on Lekki and/or Willander is, we don't really have an influx's of ELCs with ability to cover or help us out, while OEL cap hits the hardest... No doubt the Tkachuk trade would be well worth it, if we, as you say, could make it work cap wise in particularly long term. Brady Tkachuk on a line with Hogs and Petey... Drool... Our two top lines would be deadly.
  20. They probably will..... once Vegas needs to rebuild
