  1. Yep, hence I'm not too concerned about it not going totally to plan. Give them a bit of rest and they'll start racking up the points again. As for all the talk about, which fabulous team we've lost to, I couldn't give a rats arse. They don't hand out trophees in February, and regardless whats the alternative? Roll with it and see, where we are in June.
  2. I agree and yes it shouldn't take too much time, but trust me....it does... and even when the come to a conclusion often its felt like the decisions are the wrong ones... even the pundits in the studios can't agree on whether its the correct or wrong decision... Its a tough tough question, of how much do we want to interfere in the game...
  3. I don't know how the vet the refs... I do think there are discussions going on behind the scenes, if the games get out of hand... The NHL have to protect themselves too a certain extend... I agree, that the game is so fast, it's impossible to get all calls right. I think a quick way of doing this, is evaluate each call, or have TV refs do so... the problem is, how much do we want the game stopped and restarted... Its killing the joy of football....
  4. Yes but you have seen the same film as me... Last time we called the refs out, it didn't turn out too well for us neither... You say it yourself, they are protected by the head of the league. If the obstacles were consistent, it wouldn't be an issue... its what happens during playoffs, when the whistles gets put away, or a lot more gets allowed... However, obviously we hope its the same for both sides, when that happens... I'm still pissed off about 2011, but think the Sharks series were even worse... If we can't change it, we need to get better.... accept that we get shit calls, and don't start calling out the refs....it just won't work but likely make it worse. We can sit here a scream murder, and we are right, but once the players or coaches starts to complain about the refereeing, they become targeted... rightfully or wrongfully but it happens,..... and there is not a team in the NHL that will support us, as they all know the scores. That's how I see it...
  5. Totally agree... I think, we watch the games with 'homer' glasses on, and are less likely to see murder calls, when they are in our favour, or at least less likely to remember them... Problem is not the refereeing is poor, problem is there aren't any better than those referees... I'm sure over the season some teams gets more calls than others, but doubt its on purpose, and there is no way the NHL tell the refs which team should be in the play offs, and which teams should be penalised.... It would simply not be possible to keep it a secret, and there would be huge repercussions, should anything like that come out in the open... Doen't mean we got get the short end of the stick at times, cause we definitely do, but it is, what is it... and we just have to overcome that... Remember during the bubble playoffs Myers got a ridiculous amount of penalties for cross checking, and yet the team adapted and over came... This is what we have to do again.
  6. I've been thinking and hoping the same... They boys have always shown a willingness to practice... even on days off they tend to come in for a skate and a few things... I think, more than anything, they need a settled time, with time to practice and no travel... I bet they are looking forward to it as well to recharge their batteries...
  7. 100%... Zero doubt we can... first time all season we lost 3 in a row... 2 close one and a totally weird one... so what... Bruins just lost 3 on the spin, guess they'll miss playoffs now... Its an extremely tough schedule we are on here... lots of games in a short period of time, with weird starting times and travel etc... The fact we were severely outhit by Avs, suggests the team is tired... (and of course miss DAKs physicality)... Get the home to some home cooked meals, rest, hugs from family, and we will see an invigorated team again...
  8. It became a dive, when he appealed to the refs afterwards... should have had 2 min for embellishment for that... Wtf happened to hockey? In 2011 it was bad, and it got fairly well eliminated, but has now crept back in... Remember that sweaty pig Julien moan after every game about Canucks diving while Marchant had performances worthy of the circus...
  9. Agree 100%.... But if you can't beat them, join them... Do we want to win, or continue being the victim? I want to win, and as Myers said it's hard enough beating one team, but if we antagonise the refs, we know, what comes next.... we've seen the film a few times, and have to find a way to overcome the obstacles...
  10. After the Jets game... Quote from the Hockey News... Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers was unhappy with the officials after tonight's 4-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. "It's also tough when you're battling. You know, the first hit of the game is not a penalty, and he calls it a penalty because I'm a bigger guy," Myers said postgame. "You know, it felt like we were battling two teams tonight. It's unfortunate, but we'll look to come out on our road trip with a good effort and keep what we have going."
  11. Another piss poor call..... Could it be pay back from the refs for Myers? who knows.... fact is we gotta roll with the punches and get back up on the horse...
  12. Can I just add, that when looking at games without Canucks, I see the same refereeing mistakes and odd takes... Don't think, its just us...
  13. Bang on... We can cry, moan and scream, but there is f all we can do... On these pages we can say, what we think, and how we see the games, but players, coaches and management have to keep their trap closed, as it never ends well for us despite us being right or wrong... We've seen this movie before, so let it slide....
  14. It was a poor call, and I'm not sure, but think they may have been slightly influenced by the Myers non call... who knows.... its history... we need to get better... it won't be the only time, we feel hard done to.
  15. Interesting call. Can swap Suter for Lindholm, if we want to load up on the Miller line...
  16. The Lindholm pen was long before 5-2 wasn't it? (It was never a penalty)....
