  1. Spot on, on both accounts... Had it been the other way around, and a Canuck had been clipped, we would also be screaming murder... He wasn't targeting the head, but it became the main point of contact, so he'll get a suspension...
  2. Rubbish... its a predatory attack with the stick to the head, well after the whistle... 5 games min.
  3. The cost is important, and they may have to make trade offs... This was always going to be the case.. Time will tell, how much they are prepared to pay, but he has a bit of Miller in him... Tough, hits, PKs and stand up for team mates. And while not scoring nearly at same rate, who knows if he can improve on that with even better line mates... I must admit, I been very impressed, by him showing silky mitts infant of goal a few times... If they move on Garland, I could easily see him being on the 2nd line next season instead of Mika together with Lindholm.
  4. Well he wasn't gonna score 2 from the press box. He may have the freedom in Calgary that Tocchet didn't want here. Let him run with it, and they try to trade him at the TDL...
  5. Remember when he got drafted. The write ups of Woo made him one of my favorite picks as well. A dman who liked to drop the mitts and played hard on the back end. Exactly what we needed, after Bieksa retired. Hope he shows well...
  6. Surely we are not putting the blame for that at Lindholms door?
  7. Not sure they can do that, unless he really is deemed injured. Not an expert so can't say for sure...
  8. He'll be miraculously recovered by the time for the play offs... There is the money for either Tanev or an aggressive forward/ 4th line C
  9. I'm sure rotation will happen, actually hope it will happen. I'm not in the bring back Tanev corner, as I think the cost will be too high, but It would make a lot of sense to have Tanev with Hughes leaving Hronek to anchor the 2nd line. Bit since it isn't a guarentee, sure why not try Juulsen out with Hughes.. Not sure Juulsen has the speed to hold a high line like Hronek, so they may need some adjustments, however I can easily see Juulsen play 2nd pairing with Soucy. I agree, that Myers are best, when he is being told to reel it in, and control his inner Hughes, as thats when he turns into the chaos Giraffe. Plays up the middle, trying to twist and turn in own zone and leading the rush is where, he get into trouble. Simple plays helped him improve, and I'm sure, Foote will have a hold on him during next practice... Garlands line has been immense. Garland himself is driving the opposition mad and draw lots of pens, all while creating opportunities. They'll win games on their own, just as they may have to, come play offs time. I still have my concerns, if his body can last the punishment that will be handed out to him.... And finally Hogs growing as a player (again like Juulsen) confidence has a major role to play, just like coaching. I was surprised how little ice time he had the last game, but him on a line with Petey will eventually become a thing... no doubt about it, as long as he continues his tenacious play. The only slight concern atm is chemistry with Lindholm... hopefully they find some line mate, that suits his playing style. If not the may end up putting the lotto line back together and play him with Mika and Hogs or similar.. so far the chemistry has been off with our top players although that could be down to fatigue after the all star game.
  10. Confidence is a fickle thing. He is exactly, what we needed on the backend. Tough, hard hitting, PK'ing stay at home dman. Not to many fancy plays, but solid d hockey. The coaches should get a lot of credit for helping him to achieve this, but it may also have helped him to work with Cole and Soucy. Probably the biggest surprise this year...good on him for proving the doubters wrong.
  11. Not so sure they´ll let Joshua leave, but of course everyone has a limit...
  12. Spot on. And even better we have a replacement if any bottom 4 goes down. We more or less have 5 bottom 4-6 players. Either Juulsen or Hog maybe even Garland has to be front runners for unsung hero. Juulsen was not expected to play this much, and hogs and Gar was in all trade proposals. The coaching staff has done a great job...
  13. What a game... actually what a great couple of games over the weekend. It has been clear as day light, that the team was tired and off their game, and yet in b2b morning games incl. travel they managed to come away with 3 points. Talk about grinding it out despite being on your heels... 2 years ago this would have been a certain loss. Its easy to find things to criticise, when its not going well, but they must be doing something right, since they are still sitting a top of the NHL clear by 3 points. Today Garland again stepped up to the plate, but so did Hoglander, who is definitely growing as a player. Didn´t see too much of Miller, but when the chance presented itself, he hammered the puck in the net... Top marks though to Demko, who played like a top goalie in the league. Some his saves were outstanding... Finally, this team has just broken the all time Canucks points total after 52 games of the season... I think a few fan ought to calm down a little with their criticism as compared to, what we have witnessed over the last decade, this is just amazing.
  14. When was the last time Demko made a save... he is keeping them in the game just now... great saves...
