  1. When Rome got 4 match suspension (a shocking decision by absolutely disgusting favouritism) it was game over....
  2. That is true... Also believe they would have beaten Bruins. If they can get a better winger or C for the 2nd line, it will be getting closer. If Kuz had still been scoring for fun, it would have been a different story. I think our 4th line is a good bit better though... But it is a guessing game...
  3. 5-2 Canucks Petey Winner Canucks most penalty minutes.
  4. Maybe.... And I'm a huge 2010-2011 fan... But they were also going to beat Bruins...
  5. Regardless of everything, if the speed with which JR/PA has turned this franchise around wasn't enough to get an extension, nothing would be... Like or loathe Rutherford, but the management team brought together under his leadership, has done wonders. This is the team, many said couldn't win the cup as they didn't have a top 2-3 pick in the team. It would be impossible to get rid of the anchor contracts and we'd be stuck in the mud for years to come. In the summer many thought, that despite Tocchet having a good run, the earliest this team could become a contender was in 3-4 years... OEL cap would hinder any earlier etc etc etc.... All of these concerns has been dealt with remarkably well, and the turn around of players and the teams fortune has been nothing short of sensational... If Rutherford shouldn't be offered an extension, nobody should.... Happy for JR, the management team and Happy Hronek day.
  6. I think it hard to call it a massive fail, with the team doing as well, as it is... Tocchet has a way, he wants his team to play, and its fair, that a coach wants the team to play the way, he wants. If that means there are casualties along the way so be it... If Canucks had sucked, with the players at his disposal, then it would be a different story. In the wonderful world of hindsight, Kuz should have been traded in the offseason. @IBatch and a few others did advocate that (not me), as he could bring in something very interesting. Had Tocchet or more importantly JR/PA thought Kuzmenko wouldn't fit into his style of hockey, he would without doubt have been dealt, but they obviously though they could get him to perform under Tocchet. It is, what it is, and think Kuzmenkos time in Vancouver is close to over. They need to find a trading partner, maybe 3 way, as $5M is way too much to have in the press box, and he is not doing much better on the ice. If they can get him off the roster, it opens the possibility of signing a good C or winger for the second line... It would be good for the team, if they could get the 2nd line going again, or at least be a top notch shut down line.
  7. Could very well be... If JR wants to continue, what else can he do... the team has been different class, since he became President.
  8. Actually not that far from luongos record... Hall of fame Luongo...
  9. Yes that may be all good and true, but as I said before, I don't see us trade away our back up goalie. He is a major reason for us being in the position we are, and he will be needed during the play offs. Secondly, we need a bunch of D for the play offs. One or two injuries to the D always happens, so unless they can improve the D (massively), I have a hard time seeing us, sending a D away as well. Forwards is a different discussion. But what was talked about with @Crabcakeswas Goalie and D, and I don't see major movements there. I think Kuz is gone if they find a buyer or trade partner at this stage. We need cap space next year, so a rental for Kuz would be understandable.
  10. Yep... This team is breaking all kind of Canucks records just now... Maybe just maybe the first to lift it as well...
  11. Leading up to the game, there were a lot of talk about, how Canucks normally struggle in the first game back home after a long away trip.... While this is true, they now know how to turn the games into victories... Bodes well for the future
  12. 27-0-1 when leading after 2 Believe its the fastest ever to 30 wins Joshua great game....
  13. Don't know if you already discussed it, but thought the talk by McIntyre and Shah about Miller being under appreciated was nonsense... It is definitely not on these pages, and wonder if they are trying to stir something?
  14. Yes the 3am games are not good for sleeping pattern... but hard not to get up, when they play like this
  15. Think I may have misunderstood you CC... I thought you were talking about prior to TDL? I agree we will need to let players go prior to next season, but doubtful they will start trading our back up keeper, who has been big part of the success prior to TDL.
  16. True.... The last thing you wanted to do when playing flames, was wakening up Iginla...
  17. Spot on.... We know jack.... For all we know, Petey may already have agreed a new deal, or told them he is not wanting to stay (very doubtful), but nevertheless we just don't know. Or maybe he just don't want to think about the future just now, but actually focus on playing hockey. He may actually really enjoy the hockey the team is playing just now, and don't want to think about $, contracts, Clauses, etc etc just now...
  18. ... nah... but I don't think they change the colours they wear, just because some of the employees think other colours are nicer... I think most franchises, stay with their main colours through out their tenure, existence... It is about something the fans can relate to. PS. can I just add, I doubt the customers of the above mentioned shops, are as invested in it, as we are ...
  19. Yeah pretty much agree on this, although I think there are more players in play. I'm also not too concerned about this years 1st round pick.... It will 'hopefully' be a very late first round pick, and I think this management team has shown an ability, to make smart moves for cheap/cheapish contracts... so I think they'll be good at keeping the cap costs down. However, if they feel this will be Peteys final year as a Canuck, or they feel they know the move that could move them over the top, then by all means do it, as long as it doesn't involve our 2 top prospects. There will be a mini rebuild to be done over the summer, but it is not going to be for massive players, so we will have 1 more season to make a push, before serious decisions have to be made (at least that's how I see it)... And yes there will be departure of good players during the summer... but rather that, than being saddled with contracts for 3-4 years with players, who doesn't live up to expectations. It is definitely going to be an interesting time leading up to the TDL and off season as well... Luckily, we seem to have an excellent management team in place to make those decisions.
