Yep. I'll also add that I'm not talking about serious, violent, repeat or pedophilic offenders. I don't think that therapies have great effect on those offenders. In some cases, that brain is wired so poorly, there will be no chance of rehabilitation. Fortunately most people do not commit these types of crimes.

I'm talking about the young, drunk, stupid boys who have never been taught empathy or consent. That's a huge population and we need to differentiate between them and the prolific offenders. May those boys be rehabilitated so that their actions can cause them stomach churning shame.

    They aren't the same population.

A sexual assault is still a sexual assault to a victim despite the perpetrators naivety.lack of a moral compass is a weak argument as the victims will never for the rest of their life be the same no matter how much therapy they get,I personally know this.the sentencing laws for sexual assault are joke in this country, they should reflect the lingering damage done to the victims and their families that have to also carry that burden as well.life sentence for a life sentence,in my opinion they are the same population regardless of varying degrees of intent.anybody who has committed a crime should rehabilitate themselves as only that individual can face the depth of truth that they expose to themselves.obviously.but no one’s personal growth will ever detract from that kind of crime.lt reminds me of a nice person who drinks and drives and ends up killing somebody, they didn’t mean for someone to die and they are really sorry because now they realize the severity of their actions, but to late.somebody is dead and some family now has had the trajectory of their lives changed forever.that driver will never be the same hopefully but not even close to the victims lives.and isn’t it what it’s all about, the victims not the poor perpetrator who used poor judgment?I get what you’re saying and this is only my opinion based on my own personal experience of being a victim and the experience of my own mother being a victim as well.I appreciate the civility of your opinion, cheers

Pods needs to accept (to play in the National League) he has to be a crasher and banger. No reaching to poke at pucks. Got to go through the puck with force and create collisions. If he can make that shift in how he sees himself as a layer then he will have a long career.

That’s exactly how I see him.if he could dial in his reads and play that style he could bring good value to the line up.

    I’m not shocked with Pods.

i would have preferred when he went to abby he stayed there all the way through the rest of the season and the playoffs.

i feel like his whole career he’s not been at the right place at the right time for his development.

im hoping this tenure in the AHL is truly beneficial for him.

in both confidence building and learning how he needs to play to be an every day nhler kids got the tools and the work ethic it would be an absolute shame for him not to become a regular at the very minimum.

as for production he needs that opportunity to be the guy. I hope he becomes that guy in abby this season and he doesn’t get an early call up.

The Russian league really stalled his development in my opinion during some critical development years.I agree he should have been in Abbotsford under colliton’s tutelage.got the tools.could be our Torres light if he puts it together.

Small C Conservatives are kind of like Small L Liberals.  We get panned by both camps because w're "centrists" as evidenced by the mocking posts on other threads.  Just because we're moderates and don't agree with much of the policies of the extreme ends of either party.

I have a very significant belief in the importance of social programs and oversight/intervention in corporate overreach.  I also don't for a second believe our money should be spent the way it has been the last 3 decades and that far more oversight is needed on the waste and worthless regulations we see in our government at all reaches.

It's kind of a shame we are the single largest but also the single most neglected voices in our political theater.

I recommend to everyone to read Pierre Burton’s” the depression “a real eye opener for those who don’t understand how we got here.I see a new small c Conservative Party is forming “center ice”,nice to see ,we need more alternatives to the two big “cartels”.i don’t agree with capital punishment as it relies on the legal system to get it right every time.bring Back the work farm like oakalla in Burnaby.cheers

Maybe he found out through Twitter or somethjng equally disrespectful.  Or maybe he doesn't think Montreal will be his final destination before the season starts

Out of curiosity were you surprised Montreal did go out and get an another winger?good suggestion that it might not be his final destination before the season starts.cheers

    Montreal does that why?

My theory is French guy ,French market ,versatile winger who technically can play centre if needed .on a contract year, this could elevate his game a little more.if things don’t pan out the Habs have a choice to sign probably at a reasonable price or maybe let him go as what he does bring can be replaced. If i remember correctly they have a slew of third rounders next couple of years.I know they have a lot of wingers but i think he might be a step above what they currently have.

On the flip side, 20 players had no issues with it, but 2 did. .

It's what happens everywhere now, we pander to the most sensitive part of any group. You could have a class of 200 students in a lecture and all it takes is one student to misinterpret something and get offended, and you get professors in hot water.

Your reply has merit, for a lot of situations. I know of a friend at work who made a non offensive joke to someone who took issue with it and got him in trouble. I think for him it’s don’t joke with someone in that particular manner unless you know that person has a sense of humour.(it was religious in nature but not offensive to me but obviously to this guy).past behaviour dictates future behaviour a lot of times.maybe it’s not about hurt feelings but crossed boundaries?Torts probably hurt a lot of feelings but didn’t have a history of veteran players calling him a horrible human.no corporation wants to pay anybody 8 million to go fishing for two years over hurt feelings.maybe management is the one who thought they don’t want their up and coming team to be managed in that matter and maybe the players just shared that they didn’t like it but felt like they didn’t have any recourse and moved on?hopefully more comes out!a person can be nice to some and horrible to others, nothing is really black and white but a lot of gray in between.so let’s see how this pans out.cheers

  9. Just a question, does it seem insensitive to not expect to be held accountable for one’s actions?i don’t think the blue jackets want to pay 8 million for nothing because two players got hurt feelings but more likely because a serious line was crossed at some point by some one who should have known better at this point in his career.civility is a window into your character.we are judged by our actions.how much has babs made now by not having to coach due to his behaviour?

  12. Long time listener ,first time caller.thanks for creating this alternative so quickly.was not looking forward to HF board as I find the first two pages of any thread there to be informative but quickly descended into usually two sets of individuals insulting each other’s speculative opinions with “LOL’s” and severe cases of shameless recall.like watching flies fighting mid air.thanks again!
