Demko trade, incoming.

Hope the new gig is something he's capable of being top 3 in that field; otherwise a big drop in his productivity/value to the club.
Why’s a Demko trade incoming?

Ceci getting traded might open a spot for Stecher to give them a second NHLer other than Ekholm. Having an ECHLer in Bouchard and a PWHLer in Nurse to go with the rest of the AHL trash they call defencemen is insulting to those who have any respect for the sport though.
Thanks, needed that

Adding another guy with character issues to a team with no leadership and a locker room cancer isn't exactly helping the Oilers.
How’s the Oilers defence look these days Heff?

does this mean the silly season is over or is it still being silly?
Still being silly. People want something to talk about while we wait for hockey again

Things were running a little too smoothly in Vancouver. Time to stir the pot. Get some clicks and some likes.

This thread is bs sorry grandfather but it should be closed. No time to panic here

I'm glad the hockey minds who know things I have no idea about (nor really care about) have explained why this makes sense.
OK, I get it.
But I still think we'll be sorry. I don't think we've seen Podz blossom into what he probably will. I hope I'm wrong.
It takes some players more time to develop/learn the game here. Especially with language barriers. I just hate that it was a small sample size, that's all. The "what could be" stuff has bit us in the past.
But....I get it. There was a reason and I'll accept it. Just HATE that it's the Oilers.
I hate the Oilers so much I would have taken the Waivers option if Podz didn’t make the team. As a passionate fan I stand by that

Hopefully we use the 4th as part of a deal to dump Poolman’s contract.
Feels like Poolman has been on our cap sheet for 10 years lol

The Habs have no elite guys. They will need to do another rebuild after this one.
That’s called the circle of life my friend

People can't see that this is essentially
Podkolzin for Desharnais and OTTs 4th this season. Especially with Podkolzin and Desharnais both now being on 2 year contracts. With OTTs success-rate the last few years this is basically
Podkolzin for Desharnais and a low 3rd.
Not to mention that Allvin has something else in the works most likely.
Bravo management!
No it’s not. Desharnais was a free agent. Why would we sugar coat this? It’s Podkolzin for a 4th nothing more, nothing less.

8.7 x two. Highest paid Hab now.
Only 2 years ain’t bad, worth the risk and the added another pick. Might not like them but they seem to be a really good job over there

Neat deal. I hope he does well on Montreal

yeah I think training camp and the first part of the year are make or break for him. he's great when he's driving a bottom line but he disappears and makes pettersson worse when he's in the top 6.
there's no room for guys who only provide offense if they don't also play special teams.
Hmm interesting take. You might not be wrong. Wonder what happens there

I've been saying since like July 2nd the canucks need to lose wingers. they had at least 14-15 nhl wingers. podkolzin was always the most obvious name to go, with hoglander next up.
Hoglander hey.

There isn’t a way for them to win this one.
That sounds nice

Predictions for next guy jettisoned?
I say it’s Nils Aman.
Pretty boring player. If I were to guess I’d say he ends up a AHL/NHL journeymen. I predict lots of waivers in his career. Solid enough to fill a role with injuries. Not good enough to be an nhl Regular

I think EDM has lost a lot of depth this offseason. Mcloud and Fogle were big bodies in the bottom 6 with speed. Skinner (forward) is soft and hasn't played a playoff game in his career. Arvidson best days are behind him. Now they lost Ceci who was good for them when he wasn't with Nurse. Played huge role in their top PK for playoffs.
Let’s hope so

Does the San Jose GM not understand what leverage means?
No and Emberson ain’t a bad young D either. Probably a lifetime bottom pairing but still. Who gives a hoot about a 3rd round pick

Ian Clark stepping down as goalie coach. Will still be with organization

Reminds of so many times when Canucks have gotten a third string goalie and people start speculating that the starter is getting traded obviously lol
