I’m not arguing either. You have an opinion that I happen to disagree with, that’s all. I guess I can’t understand how someone can’t be excited about signing a consecutive 40 point scorer with an overall +8 for under 1 million who has not been ‘healthy scratched’ as you stated. I just don’t understand your POV.
I thought he was, down the stretch with Detroit. Why didn’t anyone else sign him or Detroit re sign him? Obviously there’s holes or something we’re missing here as he basically signed a 1 year show me deal. I said it was a good signing but nothing to parade about for me anyways

He played 76 games of 82, so healthy scratch how many times? Really? present a good argument and I can reply…
I’m not here to argue. Just expressing my opinion. I find it quite interesting this year. Looking at the signings and having a neutral point of view like it’s not the team I cheer for. I used to be excited about every move but I’ve changed my perspective. People get a little uptight if you don’t agree 100% with this management. So it’s kinda like being on the other side.
I am excited to see how it all plays out and hey maybe I’m wrong and Sprong fits like a glove, that would be cool

Huh? He played 76 games last year and had 43 points…..
He did, and was a healthy scratch too. Hes been a liability defensively in the past. Good signing, just not a jump for joy one for me. Theres literally no risk. Just not high on the player myself.

By signing Sprong it allows us to add a 20 goal scorer for free while allowing us to trade a guy like Höglander for more defensive help. So we are adding to the overall team depth. No I disagree we needed more scoring in the top 6 as much

Tell me you haven't looked at our defensive depth chart without saying you haven't looked at our defensive depth chart.
Oh I know. Just saying it doesn’t make sense to add to subtract. Although depending on how Hogz season goes. I could see a deadline move there. Just don’t think it has anything to do with this signing

Gone are the days of the Beagles of the world being signed for 3M on multiple year deals...
Competent, skilled management here are getting it done, over and over again...I still can't believe we got a .62 ppg guy for under a mill, and on a "show me" contract no less
Actually a long time ago now. I don’t think we need to look in the past anymore

If he makes the top 6 then that would be great.
It just occurred to me that maybe Allvin is thinking that either Garland or Joshua (or both) moves up and Sprong might replace their scoring on the 3rd line.
Joshua Miller Boeser
DeBrusk Pettersson Garland
Heinen Blueger Sprong
Hoglander Suter Sherwood
Podkolzin
It means breaking up everybody's favorite 3rd line but are they really married to that?
That lineup does have a way better mix if we do indeed break up that third line. That said that 3rd line was the best in the league last year. Tough to say

I think this could set the table to trade hogs for a dman.
Adds scoring depth that we need. Now we can trade a 24 goal scorer,
makes sense… lol

Aman isn't waiver eligible. He is a centre so I am pretty sure he stays with the big club. They will waive PDG more than likely...
Should’nt matter. There’s a reason the AHL team is in Abby now, they can use call ups quite easily when not working in LTIR

But the deals signed by Canucks brass are literally some of the easiest to trade for literally anything around the TDL in the entire league. These are deals that can return assets and I can't complain about that
This does leave Podkolzin on the outside or riding the pine though and that is not something I like to see. Would mean 4 wasted or blown top 10 picks in 6 years by Vancouver in Podkolzin, Virtanen, Juolevi and the 9th OA that went to Arizona for OEL.
Don’t really care for this signing but it’s depth. And don’t worry about Podkolzin, someone is always injured

Pass on Barrie.Target the best remaining puck mover that can also be trusted in his own zone.
Whether that’s Kylington, Schultz, or Shattenkirk, it has to be someone Tocc and Foote can trust to take care of their own end.
Kylington pretty please

Somehow quantity = success? Don't see how using all of our fire powder loading up on 3rd liners will help us advance. We've already got Heinen, Hoglander, Joshua, Blueger, Garland, Suter, Sherwood. Another signing and Podkolzin is playing another full season in the AHL again. This is pretty much the year we either play him or trade him, hes lost much of his value already.
Go Podz Go!

Yeah I understand this. OT has gotten brutal with the constant cycling back to keep possession

It’s just for fun. Take it up with the person that upset you

I think people are looking at our LTIR for adding more players.
I hope they don't, I'd rather bank cap for a trade.
A pto would be ok tho, if someone can beat out pdg for a job.
Yeah we’ll be looking for guys making 800k just knocks another out of the lineup and we stay out of LTIR.
A couple PTOs would be ideal. I like to see Forbort a 7th guy instead of penciled into the top 6 will be injuries anyway. Hopefully no one takes our Waivers

I get the impression a lot of people are thinking that my Maccelli deal is too long, too high and too risky. Here's my rationale.
I obviously follow this player. I watched a lot more Coyotes games than I thought I would because of their whole ownership and arena fiasco, and it always struck me how smart that kid was. He would always put himself in a spot to be dangerous in the offensive zone and his passing skill was always noticeable. Not to mention just how creative he is as a 23 year old. At his age, to put up the numbers he has in only his second full season? He has untapped potential and I think that him being on a team like Utah is huge for his development. Adding Sergachev to be another element from the back end will allow him to use his ability to get lost even more efficiently. I think Macelli ends up topping out as a top-end support player, and as of now $8+ is fair market value for that. The cap goes up and he will improve, so I think this deal looks better for the team as the years go on. I honestly expect about ~70 points for him this year., and more to follow.
I think it was a good deal for both clubs

Again, it’s not that I don’t like it. It’s just not that exciting. Hope he has a great year for us
