  1. neither hogs or sprong are good defensively. too much pressure on suter to produce and take care of all the defensive play. hogs and sprong need to play with 2 defensively strong linemates. miller and boeser need another defensively player on their line. i don't know if debrusk is strong defensively. if not, that leave petey needing another defensively strong linemate. i'm sure tocchet will want that.
  2. our 3rd line could end up being henein, suter and sprong. there is nothing in tocchet's thinking that says, our 3rd line has to be garland, joshua and blueger. tocchet will play his players where they can best serve the teams success.
  3. lay lady lay hoyt axton plus bob dylan's version.
  4. john's widow gave a great eulogy. i couldn't do that at my wife's funeral. she held it together quite well.

I love that it was long and she got to express everything. She was so brave. How difficult for her to navigate this - will have 3 children under the age of 3 and there will be moments when it's difficult. I'm just glad they do have what seems to be a great support system, it'll be needed after the initial shock wears off. Right now I imagine they're all still numb.

Rough way to start life losing your Father and your Uncle. I hope the family gets the support they need.

Calgary has a player that's underperforming and earning $10.5 Million a season, yet they are 2nd lowest in cap. And have over $21 million in cap space. On top of that Huberdeau's contract is pretty much buy out proof.

  6. i've always believed that regardless if you believe in god or not, most important, is what is in your heart. my mother was very religious but never pushed it on us kids. we were given the freedom to make our own choices. somewhere in the bible, it says, if a man does not know the laws of god, but lives them in his life, he is a law unto his self. my take away from god's laws is " do unto others as you'ld have them do unto you'. a golden rule, i live by. like my mother, i have my beliefs but i don't push them on anyone.
  7. getting re-equainted with the inspiring art work of ariane kramarik. her story, art works and poems are so fantastic.
  8. mine are not so much getting something from but getting to meet and know hockey people. as i've wrote on cdc, as a teen, i got to shag flies at a batting practice of whl canuck's, andy bathgate and larry popien before they got called up to the newyork rangers. bathgate became a hall of famer. as a young man, i got two letters and got to meet and talk to babe pratt. he was canuck's good will ambassador and a hall of famer. i had brief moment and words with david babych at smithers airport. meeting nhl'ers, i became friends with jim and joe watson, from smithers while playing for the flyers. one year, the brought fred shero to smithers. fred coached the flyers and put on a coaches clinic. after the clinic he joined us all for a few beers. even though we went to the same church, i never met dan hamhuis, but knew his parents. when i first moved to smithers, i went into a cafe, the waitress came over, yelled at me and wanted to know what i was doing there? to make the story short, she came back with my order and apologized. she said, i have 2 boys playing for the flyers and i thought you were bernie parent and since it was hockey season, you shouldn't be here. i got to know all the watsons. i met both flockhart brothers but didn't like their attitudes. i coached one boy, drafted by quebec in the 6th round. highly skilled but a real bean pole. he never played.

No, Silovs didn't play in the Olympic Qualifying tournament due to inflammation in his knee. But he will play for Latvia in the '26 Olympics.
