      My favourite player growing up.   Back then it was Mays vs. Mantle and I was team Mays all the way.  Probably the best all-round player, offence and defence combined, ever to play the game.  And by all accounts a really good person.   Glad he lived this long.

    isee it as, if we sign 4 of our FA's we'll only need to pick up a winger for petey and another defenseman. i still see guentzel for petey and either dillon for zadorov or someone for hronek. i don't see laine, toffoli or JK as the forward we need. of course there will be a risk in the length of term. the same as we have with miller.

    personally, i trust this management group to build a consistant playoff team here. they have shown that when they make a mistake, the fix it as soon as they can. using hindsight to judge every move, no gm would keep their job here. gcg.

      Too much for Hronek IMO, but the rest are defensible. I have a feeling Myers can get 3.0 - 3.5M on the open market, but maybe he takes a discount to finish his career in Vancouver.

      i believe that, willander, pettersson and kudryavtsev will eventually make the team.

      if they can lock up hronek for hughes long term, our future on defense looks strong.

      7.7 is under quinn's cap. thinking long term here.

      i don't believe that sights, news. they bare always a couple of weeks behind what everyone else has reported on. they should be barred from writing content or be fined for every wrong subject.

      When CapGeek ended, I was saddened, not only losing a great site, but the guy who ran it died of colon cancer.

       

      This one was the owner went for the bucks. I can't blame him. And it sort of seemed it was going that way with more pay content. I wonder if the premium customers are being refunded or they are still allowed to use the site?

    plus they would need to bring up a couple of abby nucks.

      it's not about what we would do but how important management sees him.

      are they willing to pay him what he is asking. fans have different takes on this.

      personally i'ld look for someone cheaper that can help quin be his best self.

      some fans think he is irreplaceable.

      I think the reason he hasn't signed shows the management group is looking at all options and reprecusions signing him to 8 could bring and I am ok with that. As has been pointed out in Canucks podcasts there are some RHD options on cheaper contract and terms for the Canucks to conisder.

      I expect Hronek to be moved and one or both of Garland and Mikheyev. I’d also say there’s an outside chance of Höglander being moved, depending what kind of return they can get. Pretty sure Joshua, Cole, DeSmith and Blueger walk, while we try to re-sign Zadorov, Lindholm and Myers. That’s what I’d do anyway.

    if lindholm wants more than canucks are willing to pay, wouldn't it be better to sign him for what he wants and then trade him?

    we'ld get more for him then him walking for nothing.

      Having just signed him to new contract and him  having a trade restriction with teams knowing your cap predicament, now you would have to add players in a deal of non strength (if he agreed to move) most likely?

      Sometimes the cap space is just as valuable as the player and team building comes before individuals, as Ghostsof1915 stated I trust them to sort this out

      I think it makes sense to try this combo for a sample thats more than just a game here or there.  Depends on moves and who makes it out of training camp of course

      Petey needs somebody with whom he can develop chemistry. Boeser seems welded to Miller now, so that's out. None of the other guys have turned out to be "that guy", although I like the idea of Lindholm at centre and Petey on the wing. Sadly, Lindy will go for the big dollars somewhere else. I don't know the answer, but Garland and Joshua aren't it.
