  1. oh hungry, oh henry. sssh, i'm a diabetic, i'm not suppose to intake sugar. waiting for them to invent a diet oh henry.
  2. don't know but i did learn that the cfl legend jackie parker played for3 seasons, early in his career for the b.c. lions.
  3. but one was a back up. who is the back up for the lions?
  4. what will our cap look like if we sign boeser and hughes big contracts? can we fit both in van and still ice a full team?
  5. roarke signed for 3 seasons.
  6. but how would they be deployed, half a game each or split starts or both be on the field at once?
  7. the lions say they will not trade vernon adams. how can they make two starting quarterbacks work? when jackie parker and johnny bright were dual threats for the eskimos , bright was also a running back. is there any strategy that can make this scenario work?
  8. tocchet says, he'll let the players be more creative. great news, but will he scale that back in the defensive game suffers?

I like that. It means the team doesn't get predictable. He's not against creativity, just not at the expense of getting outshot, or down on goals. Take risks when it's safe to do so. Don't just fire the puck up the ice and hope for the best.

in always marvelled at petey's creativity. i didn't see it last year. how much leeway will tocchet give him?

  9. betts looking like the top defensive lineman he was when he left for nfl. lions looking good.

So happy to have him back!!

  10. that's how i see it too. the banger has to be a good board battler and getting in first and getting the puck to the real offensive weapons. too old fashion, maybe but it worked so often. my favourite canuck's line had both fraser and smyl as players with snarl and talent to help gradin be a snarly good line. ven gretzky and kurri had semenko handling the rough stuff.
  11. i won't break up miller and boeser but i'm saying both heinen and joshua should be tried on that line and whatever happens, happens. i remember fans saying that kesler and burrows were just good defensive third liners that bring energy. never say never.
  12. saying that joshua shouldn't get a shot on miller's wing because of how he has chemistry with his 3rd line mates, is so wrong. it's like saying that kesler and burrows are such good 3rd liners, they should never be given a shot, higher in the line up. his gritty play will take some of the heavy lifting off miller's shoulders.
  13. our little problems aren't that important. life is more important and should be cherished.

I hear you, Joe. Too often we get so swept up in stuff that really isn't important at all. Family, friends, community, workmates are most important. Do no harm, treat others with respect, share your abundance. These ideas work for me.

Amen, let's all value the little moments and people in our lives while they're around.

I hear what you are saying Joe, however when you have big problems, it can be the little ones that push you over the edge...

  14. horrible news. i feel for the families. their sister's wedding and all. this really hits home, when i was still new to smithers, i drove drunk. i drove drunk many times. this last time i was stopped by police. he said, in your condition, you could hit and kill a young kid. my son was about 7 years old, then. i never drove under the influence again. i can't imagine living life, knowing you took someones life. R.I.P. johnny and mathew.
  15. mathew betts, back with the lions. expected to play saturday.

  16. i love all john barry's sound tracks. my favourite use to be miklos rosa.
  17. dances with wolves and once upon a time in the west.
  18. i think there is a difference between energy players and gritty players. gritty players have to be strong board battlers as well as being willing and able to stick up for their line mates, even if it means dropping the gloves once in awhile.
  19. my thought is, if miller doesn't have to be the main grit on his line, it may increase his playing effectiveness longer into his contract.
  20. doc phoned, my potassium is back to normal.

From my limited understanding of medicine (which consisted of watching all the episodes of Doogie Howser & Marcus Welby, MD 🥸)....Ones body maintains the 'right balance' between sodium & potassium.  Both are important for a healthy body.

  21. if they bring in 2 teams at a time, how many players could we protect in the expansion draft? 7players, 5?
  22. i would have joshua with miller and boeser; sherwood with pettersson and debrusk; heinen with suter and garland; and blais with blueger and sprong/hoglander. i think blais makes the team, he is a tocchet type player. my quess.
  23. if our 4 gritty/tough guy are joshua, heinen, sherwood and blais, can we have one on each line? how would you spread them through the line-up?
