Two players capable of starting is not too unusual. The Lions are fortunate to have both Adams and Rourke. It is a luxury they can afford for the remainder of this season.

Assuming he is remains under contract VA will likely be traded in the off-season.

    roarke signed for 3 seasons.

Calgary had both Garcia and Flutie at one point.  If both guys are mature and get along well, I don't see how it can't work.

but how would they be deployed, half a game each or split starts or both be on the field at once?

  3. the lions say they will not trade vernon adams. how can they make two starting quarterbacks work? when jackie parker and johnny bright were dual threats for the eskimos , bright was also a running back. is there any strategy that can make this scenario work?

I agree, Debrusk is a better fit than Lindholm in that complimentary role with Petey.

The only differences we will miss is a multi-purpose RHC for face offs and PK.

Lindholm never seemed to fully fit in the top six for offense with Petey and Miller already there as the playmakers.

Pat Quinn's classic line format of a banger with a play maker and a shooter seems like Tocchet's plan as well.

that's how i see it too. the banger has to be a good board battler and getting in first and getting the puck to the real offensive weapons.

too old fashion, maybe but it worked so often. my favourite canuck's line had both fraser and smyl as players with snarl and talent to help gradin  be a snarly good line. ven gretzky and kurri had semenko handling the rough stuff.

But what about the chemistry 6 and 9 have?

Also...skating styles differ in my view between Heinen and Joshua. Joshua's more of a "lugger" (made that up, but hopefully some of you get what I mean by that).and the heavy play is what I love about him. Miller reacts quickly and fires passes off that you have to be ready for...I think Heinen plays a "quicker" game and would be able to receive those bullets.

I just see Joshua fitting better elsewhere. FTR, my guess is JT won't change the heavy lifter part as that's just who he is/how he plays.

i won't break up miller and boeser but i'm saying both heinen and joshua should be tried on that line and whatever happens, happens.

i remember fans saying that kesler and burrows were just good defensive third liners that bring energy.

    never say never.

  7. i think there is a difference between energy players and gritty players.  gritty players have to be strong board battlers as well as being willing and able to stick up for their line mates, even if it means dropping the gloves once in awhile.

I wouldn't put Heinen in that group either.  But Miller will bring all the grit to the first line.

my thought is, if miller doesn't have to be the main grit on his line, it may increase his playing effectiveness longer into his contract.

  9. i would have joshua with miller and boeser; sherwood with pettersson and debrusk; heinen with suter and garland; and blais with blueger and sprong/hoglander. i think blais makes the team, he is a tocchet type player. my quess.

too bad Willander and Fernstrom would not attempt.
some of the guys i'm pretty exciting to see :

    (interest goes in this order)

-Kudryavtsev (last russian we have in the whole system)

    -Romani

    -Patterson

    -Lekkerimäkki

    -Mynio

    then Raty, D-Petey, Klimovich's redemption....

definitively not interested by what Bains has to offer, i guess it's because of the forced hype when he was called to the canucks. I wish him the better, but honestly he was completely lost with the big boys and i never understand why he was as much put forward.

when you say patterson, do you mean pettersson or is there another player, i'm not aware of?
