Not the first, but Boeser did get some more goals on the first night! 🙂

  3. podz to abby, hirose to canucks.

    will mikheyev play?

I doubt it, unless the Canucks are really ravaged by the flu, but even then, I think they  would just call a player or players up from Abby.

they are talking , they may play with 11 forwards.

Oilers seem short handed too. This should be interesting.

  4. wow, your finally old enough to enter beer parloues. be careful blowing all those candle out, maybe have some oxygen there just in case. hope they get you on the jumbotron. best of everything big casino.
  5. would you trade connor garland to chicago for tyler johnson?. they are both small, johnson's contract expires after this season. he plays all three forward positions. his best days are behind him but still gets points. their contracts are a wash. i believe johnson can be sent to abby. he is from spokane.

He does have some offensive ability and maybe playing with Bedard, he’d get 25-30 goals and 55-60 points.

This trade could work.  Chicago has over $50 million in cap space next year.  I doubt they just want to fill the spots with a bunch of plugs.  They need guys to play with Bedard.  Garland could be that guy.

Chicago would look at better options than Garland.  Garland's perception around the league is that he's a 3rd line player and/or a low-end 2nd forward.  Bedard's presence will attract a lot of higher end UFA's than Garland.

  6. true, not many of us who knows who connie madigan is? when they should smyl's time with nw bruins, they showed a full on donni brook. oh how i remember those. crazy games.
  7. i don't think it is the core, but getting the right supporting cast. they have to get harder to play against. if they had 2 more hard to play against wingers, they could move diguiseppe and joshua both down a line. it will probably take another year.
  8. canucks are cap compliant. how do they stay compliant when mikheyev returns? 4, 750 mil.

No, his cap is counting on our roster. They will be fine when he returns, might just have to send one player down as we're only allowed 23.

Joe he is included in the cap.  With 23 players including Mikheyev they are around $20,000 below the cap.

okay, i'm wrong as usually. thank you.

  9. i wonder id soucy starts the season on ltir?

they say we are cap compliant with a 22 man roster but don't include mikheyev or hoglander on it. i don't understsnd.

  10. does anyone know, how many more spots there are in the ring of honor for future inductees?

  11. if he is good at board battles, he'll be a tocchet kind of guy. i'm still puzzled why studnika was waived. thought he was playing well?
  12. funny, when we had rafferty, i thought we should get lafferty too, so announcer could had fun with rafferty to lafferty i know, i'm weird. i'ld like to know managements rational in the trade? hope he is an upgrade on somebody.
  13. if they expand to those 4 cities, is realignment as easy as putting quebec in montreal's division. atlanta in the carolina's division, houston in the central and salt lake city in the pacific?

I'm all for it. Water the league down. That might be the best way for the Canucks to exploit their position. We have 3 of the leagues best in Pete/Hughes/Demko at the 3 key positions in their prime. it's kind of a GM's dream scenario we can off load our dead wood to teams that need to expose guys and re vamp the foundation around our core. Expansion is great for the canucks.

I honestly don’t think Quebec City having a team is a good idea. I imagine they would have a harder time keeping players than Winnipeg or Calgary and not every player can be French Canadian.

  14. i think i'm more excited for next year. we have over 17 mil in ufa's and over 14 mil in rfa.

some of these players will be re-signed but we should have much more cap room for JR and PA to fill in the players needed to seriously compete for a trip back to the cup.

      Not to impact your happiness.

But Petey and Hronek are not going to be cheap.

Plus a lot of assorted FA's.

Whatever cap space we have is still going to vanish pretty quickly.

  15. a nice polo shirt would be nice although at my age, i don't know how long i'll be around. i might prefer to just make a donation or buy a shirt for deb.
  16. am i the only one hoping canucks pick up a hard to play against winger? i don't know if any will come up in waivers.

    1. Odd.

      Odd.

Wade Allison is on waivers. He’s a tough kid.

  17. 3 to 2 edmonton garland and kuzmenko mcdavid and drysidle with 2

Going to the Lions game Joe, hopefully BC Place will put the score up on the board. A double victory would be nice.
