  1. thanks lad. i never liked the god thread. it's two sides fighting over information that none of us have. and we won't have in this life time. lets just love each other and let the chips fall where they might.
  2. that pettersson kid is a pip, isn't he?. dominates every year, too bad he doesn't play for the canucks. cpl1, your a fine broth of a boy. did you keep all the team's lists to compile the results?
  3. i may be wrong, but personally, i believe in a creator and that our soul's go to another dimension when we die here. i'll believe that until this life is over. i'm not so much religious that i won't see other's opinions, but my faith is present. there is so much we don't know about our beings, including scientist and clergy, that we'll only learn after we die. if i'm wrong, you can all laugh at me. i don't think there is an arguement that either side can prove. i agree about bible being written by scribes and only one story put in it. what i got out of the bible is, shrunken done to one sentence it reads, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. great words to live by.
  4. i liked hirose and studnika's games. didn't like how calgary man handled canucks physically.

      Mordekai

Literally men vs boys. Of course they are going to get man handled.

  5. it comes down to, if your going to lose one of them on wavers, who would you want to keep? martin or desmith? imo we would lose one of them.
  6. tocchet likes pairs. i'ld like to know peoples ideas, not on who plays with the pairs, but what kind of linemate best completes each line, eg scorer, playmaker, gritty, strong defensive player exc? kuzmenko... pettersson ................. miller... boeser ............ suter... garland ........... joshua,,,,blueger ............... ?
  7. bure was the most exciting player, but my favourite russian canuck was also igor larinov. because he was the consimate team player. that is important to me.
  8. for me it's stan the steamer smyl. if he couldn't go around you, he went through you, 2nd favouite was paul reinhart.
  9. a fellow cree, i hope he comes back. he is a good 3rd pair player, who can play up the line-up if needed. i think that the future of the canuck's defense looks promising. we couldn't say that in past years.
  10. top shelve hockey says that colorado is looking for a back up goalie and vancouver has too many. he wonders is the two team could work something out?

On what planet does Colorado even remotely consider that @canucks curse

Empties chiming Martin will be traded by Monday. Not sure it’s the Avs.

  11. 10 players signed for next year. i'm sure they will add pettersson, hronek and likely joshua to that number.

they should be able to get the right mix then.

    1. canucks curse

      canucks curse

they will have over 33 million if cap does not go up, they should be fine, not to mention they might still trade garland or Boeser

      Myers $3 Million for 3 years. 😜

  12. i like cff for canuck's family forum, but i'm easy.
  13. welcome mudge, glad to see you made it. i would still like to know the reason cdc was shut down?

    1. Curmudgeon

      Curmudgeon

Hi, Joe. I really don't know why CDC was shuttered, but the new forum will be better because it won't be run by the team/NHL. I don't think ownership/management has really thought this through. If they want to control what fans are saying, well, that won't work. And if the new forum needs money to keep going, I will gladly chip in.

Hope all is well with you and that you had a great summer. Now it's back to hockey and I can't wait.

  14. i liked it when JR said, we have 2 more contracts to move and we'll be able to do the things they want to do, with this team.

sounds like maybe moving out 10 mil will do it. plus he said next year some contracts they don't want, will come off the books.

    gotta love good ol jim.

    2. Odd.

      Odd.

Beauvillier, Garland, and Myers. About 15M. 6M to Petey/Hronek. + cap increase by 3-4M.

next summer I think is when this team will be competitive with the amount of cap we’ll be able to work with. Assuming they can find a suitor for Garland.

Garland and Myers are the two Benning stains that are left. That’s the two JR is referring to. Please let those two stains be washed out!

After watching the presser. I'm getting the feeling they know damn well no one has cap room. They did the moves to become cap compliant. Sounds like they are waiting for the trade deadline, or just expiring contracts to correct the situation.

  15. i know not how to move anything over but it is great at my age to be a rookie at anything.
  16. heard on canuck clay, that canucks have offered bear a contract and are waiting for an answer. like to see him back.

Interesting. I wonder if we risk losing Woo or Wolanin if we send them down then. That one detail might give Wolanin a big edge in winning the NHL job.

    3. Bob Long

      Bob Long

I can't imagine Woo would clear waivers. I don't want to lose him for nothing. I realize every team has guys like this but with RHD being a premium spot I can't see the bottom feeders passing on him.

    4. PeteyBOI

      PeteyBOI

but what if we could sign bear to a multi year deal at 1.9M 2 or 3 years... basically our myers replacement next year... and if thats true we might lose one of these players to waivers signing bear doesnt change much as we could still have 8 defenceman and will still be at risk losing one of them anyways... we could always send down irwin if it was really important to management... basically trading irwin for bear

  17. one thing about pearson, he was a strong board battler. hope we move a soft forward for another pearson.

Or hope that Höglander/Podkolzin graduates into that role effectively and quickly.

  18. i live in smithers and was named joe. i was afraid, i wouldn't remember any other name, especially proffessor phineas kiniceter. please keep this private.

      J-23

Mikheyev, though we have only see him play at around 60% potential

    3. Snoop Hogg

      Snoop Hogg

      Nils “Snoop Hogg” Hoglander

    4. Quantum

      Quantum

Dakota Joshua. He really impressed me last season.

  21. imo, canucks not only have to become cap compliant but also they need a hard to play against ala burrows to ride shot gun for petey and kuz. this on the way to being hard to play against. my thought it should be beauvillier that moves and myers
