We have a great cap structure with this management, No stupid long-term contracts that will have us hemmed up..Just the key pieces are signed long..We will have money to splurge with in the near future whereas lots of other teams will likely be in cap trouble..I'm sure PA will nab some great d-man from out there via trade or FA..Don't worry bud.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding @smithers joe.
Are you saying we still don't have depth on RHD?
We have more RHD depth prospects than I've seen in years.
I still have hopes that maybe Celebrini might be wild card pick that pays dividends.

willander is the only sure thing to play regularly on our defence. others are maybes.
on the left side we have several that could play in the nhl. too bad we had to trade away to calgary, a good bet to make the team eventually. only we just bring in tough 3rd pair d-men. i'ld like another prospect with a better average chance to make the team.

@smithers joe I think at this point there's a bit of a reputation factor involved. I've spent a fair bit of time in and around Whalley Baseball/Whalley Ballpark as both a player and coach so I'm somewhat familiar. I've encountered quite a few kids/families who "should" be with another LL but go to Whalley because of its reputation, that's where Dad played, or whatever other reason. I think it also helps that 1) Kennedy Surrey Little League folded in the early 00's and a lot of their kids went to Whalley as it was by far the closest LL, and 2) Surrey Canadian Baseball (the BC Minor option for North Surrey kids) sucks, especially for more competitive players.
About ten or fifteen years ago Whalley LL was really struggling with registration but I think that's improved since then.
White Rock had a good thing going for a bit there about a decade ago but ultimately went to BC Minor instead. Langley (collectively) has a ton of young families and always has relatively high registration numbers in baseball but there's some infighting between the BC Minor/Baseball BC/Little League factions that gets Langley baseball tripping on its own dick more often than not.
