i don't understand why some contracts contain mostly signing bonus money and little
actual salary. it all counts against the cap, doesn't it?
-
a 1956 jackie robinson baseball card, which i had as a kid, is being sold for 156 thousand dollars. my baseball and hockey card collection would be worth a fortune now. my foresight skills were missing. dumb kid.
-
if we move mikheyev and pdg's contracts, we'll have 31 mil to sign our free agents.
hronek, zadorov, joshua, blueger, lafferty, podkolzin and desmith.
-
how many cff members have you met personally? 4 for me.

if vegas beats them tonight and canucks with 2 of their 4 games, edmonchuck would need to win their remaining 5 games to take over first.
i so want to see edmonton play vegas in round one. that would put us up against nashville. a little unknown but other than the travel, that would be all right.
no easy match ups.
-
i see edmonton winning the pacific and canucks playing LA in the 1st round.
imo, we can beat LA in 6games.
-
rest in peace barbara rush.
-
a ranger loss to forida and a canuck win over calgary would put canucks alone a top of nhl.
-
25 mil left to sign our 11 remaining fa's.
hronek, zadorov and lindholm would eat all that up.
no room then for joshua, podkolzin, blueger, myers, cole, lafferty, friedman or desmith.
unless other contracts moved.
tough decisions for PA and JR.

@NHLer Realistic prices for all, but i think that leaves us with Blueger or Pods playing backup goalie.
-
any word on demko?
-
did we just have the most fans on line? record or no?
-
how much cap space do we have? i read we only have 123,000 dollars
-
24 mil left to sign our fa's
how do we use it?
-
if mikeyev is moved, canuck's could sign almost all their fa.
or sign more needed players.
-
Garland has really upped his value, but given his chemistry with Joshua I don't think you want to move him until we can see if someone like Podz can step in next year. His value will only increase as they will play well next year too and he's then on an expiring contract. If you sell, sell after we know we have his replacement.
Mik, although his value is down, still has a "reputation" around the league as a fast smart defensive player who can put in 15-20 goals...Mik is probably the guy to go...
-
seravellireporting, tavev to dallas for a second, a player and an additional pick.
-
who would you rather sign for next year, zadorov or joshua?
-
i wonder if petey is happy with the style of hockey canuck's play? dump and chase.
-
i wish that PA would sign someone, whether it's hronek, zadorov, blueger or joshua, just to let petey know, he is holding up the team build.
i might be out to lunch but at least, it's a thought sandwich.

I thought I was hearing the team was working on an extension on Blueger at current. That would be a nice move, the right move to get done.
I don't think Petey is holding anything up as he has communicated to the team his desire to sign later. I feel like Joshua is at a place in his career where he may need to cash in and could get north of 3m per elsewhere.
Zadorov I don't have a good read on, but if he truly wanted to be a top four I just don't see it full time long term. He is a 4/5 guy to me and if he's happy here and maybe a long Playoff run sets the stage for him to be more willing to return at a not cemented top four position.
Vancouver will have players like Bains, Raty, Podkolzin to name a few ready to push for spots next season to replace guys who want bigger money re: Joshua?

another trip to the er, nets me my own oxygen machine. finally slept through the night.
i only missed the third period of the winnipeg game.
-
wondering what blueger and joshua will be looking for on new contracts, next season?
-
has garland been our best player, the last few games? impressed with juulson's game too.

Garland never quits, I love that about him and his motor seems to run forever. I wish he wanted to be in Vancouver, but I hope the winning has changed his mind on that early report of asking for a trade.
Juulson however I am unsure of yet. I like to pick out one player per game and 'isolate' them in my viewing...maybe three games back I was watching Juulson's every shift all game long and was not that happy with him. A giveaway in our zone that was just a brainfart and then later a dumb penalty and ended up minus1 on the night. We lost in overtime. Shrug, as I said though, I am undecided on him, will watch him closely again next game though as well as Lindholm who i tried to isolate last game but was distracted by the score and Chaos Giraffe's goal on us. -
May be a bump in the road developing but still think the team will battle for tops and win their division. I think much of the top talent is coasting a bit, too casual with the puck, blind low percentage drop passes and dangling with the puck into low percentage areas. Its going to happen. Just need the top guys to simplify, skate harder and cut out some of that sexiness out of their games. Nothing wrong with humbling some of the talent on the team. Those worker bees like Garland, such an awesome example for the rest of the team.
