  1. Only 47 points in 82 games? Quinn put up 53 in 68 as a rookie. Bust.
  2. I'd be open to letting everyone short of Hronek walk tbh, depending on what they want. Joshua would probably be better served chasing the bag via UFA. Everyone you've mentioned as probably walking I'd probably allow to walk. I'd keep your tradeable players, Suter may very well slot into the Blueger spot. If Mikheyev can be moved at a reasonable price perhaps, but I'm not interested in paying top level value to move him. I'm fine with retaining Zadorov depending on cap hit and term, not interested in giving him too much term. Four years would probably be ideal. I'd be willing to bring Myers back on a 1-2 year deal if the cap hit is closer to 3M or less. He'd be a solid Willander stopgap. Juulsen is cost effective depth, I'd look to extend him sooner than later to a 3-4 year deal so long as the cap hit isn't too big. He's earned some security imo. Blueger, it depends on how much he wants. He'll be 30 in August, this is probably his last chance at a larger money/term deal. Not super big, but maybe bigger than we should pay. I wouldn't offer him more than four years. Not interested in giving bottom six guys more cap or term than necessary, that's where we should be cutting corners and looking for more cost effective options. Willander should return to Boston and stew more in a larger role. Silovs is probably fine as a backup. I don't see Tanev wearing Canuck colours again, he probably stays with Dallas or heads to Toronto. Trenin would be interesting but I wouldn't be shocked to see him circle back to Nashville or see him stay in Colorado. Tkachuk is a pipe dream, it's doubtful he's actually being shopped. Crouse is likely the sort of player Utah will keep, he's cost effective and if their goal is to try and not spin their wheels during their inaugural season than keeping him makes a lot of sense. Utah's flush with Arizona's picks, prospects, and young players, they don't need those. It'd likely take a very convincing NHL player level trade to land him.
  3. Do the Flames and Devils circle back and make a deal? Because it's hard to see him being a Flame next season.
  4. Even if he simply sticks as a capable middle six guy that's a win from a 10OA pick Most guys at 10 don't exactly pop off, getting a guy like Rantanen is an outlier https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl-draft/en/overall/10-overall-draft-picks-players-all-time-points-leaders.html https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/draft_by_pick.php?position=10
  5. Probably trying to paint an optimistic picture The Penguins organization is due for some pain, it'll probably be a lengthy process Tampa's time will come too, probably sooner than later Stamkos is 34, Kucherov is 31 in June, Hedman will be 34 in December, Vasi will be 30 in July Cupboards are largely empty, trading picks like candy will hit em eventually
  6. It's not a good comp, Doughty and Kopitar were both closer to 30 as the Kings had their few lousy seasons They also made some savvy trades and UFA signings in Danault, Fiala, and Gavrikov, amongst others The Dubois trade hasn't looked great this season but that could still change
  7. Nah, they'll try for the playoffs, I just don't think they'll be moving picks much going forward Their core is too good for them to bottom out despite being on the older side, the Pens roster is closer to being built to compete than tank as a whole If they can get their powerplay figured out they could make it next season, it really cost them this go round
  8. He didn't, but I don't imagine other owners were thrilled about subsidizing a franchise that couldn't earn Now they likely won't have to
  9. Guentzel has fit like a glove, it'll be interesting to see if they waver on their stance of not giving older players lengthy term
  10. Folks should probably stop dreaming about Crosby though
  11. Easier said than done, they have vets but the Kings were lousy enough to build a very good prospect pool LA's top tier vets were also younger then than Pittsburgh's vets are now
  12. I think hockey will do well in Utah, better once they build that brand new arena Maybe interest will tail off for some, but I don't think they'll ever bleed money like Arizona Taking on Arizona instead of a traditional expansion team gives them a lot of resources to work with and a chance to really build things how they want, team could have a bright future
  13. Both has great careers, not hall of famers but in the hall of very good
  14. I think there's a very good chance nobody does
  15. Watching the same matchup every year is boring I'm also not expecting us to get that far
  16. I think LA gets the better of Edmonton this go round, third time's the charm
