  1. Do the Flames and Devils circle back and make a deal? Because it's hard to see him being a Flame next season.
  2. Even if he simply sticks as a capable middle six guy that's a win from a 10OA pick Most guys at 10 don't exactly pop off, getting a guy like Rantanen is an outlier https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl-draft/en/overall/10-overall-draft-picks-players-all-time-points-leaders.html https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/draft_by_pick.php?position=10
  3. Probably trying to paint an optimistic picture The Penguins organization is due for some pain, it'll probably be a lengthy process Tampa's time will come too, probably sooner than later Stamkos is 34, Kucherov is 31 in June, Hedman will be 34 in December, Vasi will be 30 in July Cupboards are largely empty, trading picks like candy will hit em eventually
  4. It's not a good comp, Doughty and Kopitar were both closer to 30 as the Kings had their few lousy seasons They also made some savvy trades and UFA signings in Danault, Fiala, and Gavrikov, amongst others The Dubois trade hasn't looked great this season but that could still change
  5. Nah, they'll try for the playoffs, I just don't think they'll be moving picks much going forward Their core is too good for them to bottom out despite being on the older side, the Pens roster is closer to being built to compete than tank as a whole If they can get their powerplay figured out they could make it next season, it really cost them this go round
  6. He didn't, but I don't imagine other owners were thrilled about subsidizing a franchise that couldn't earn Now they likely won't have to
  7. Guentzel has fit like a glove, it'll be interesting to see if they waver on their stance of not giving older players lengthy term
  8. Folks should probably stop dreaming about Crosby though
  9. Easier said than done, they have vets but the Kings were lousy enough to build a very good prospect pool LA's top tier vets were also younger then than Pittsburgh's vets are now
  10. I think hockey will do well in Utah, better once they build that brand new arena Maybe interest will tail off for some, but I don't think they'll ever bleed money like Arizona Taking on Arizona instead of a traditional expansion team gives them a lot of resources to work with and a chance to really build things how they want, team could have a bright future
  11. Both has great careers, not hall of famers but in the hall of very good
  12. I think there's a very good chance nobody does
  13. Watching the same matchup every year is boring I'm also not expecting us to get that far
  14. I think LA gets the better of Edmonton this go round, third time's the charm
  15. I'm indifferent, I wouldn't care if they disallowed resting players nor would I care much if the status quo remains Knowledgeable fans who pay attention should know there's a chance top guys will be rested during the last handful of games
