  1. If the strange event that Tkachuk was on the table you've got the think the Sens would be looking for a lateral move too, not a trade mostly comprised of futures. They'd likely want a similar tier forward of similar age back. They're a team that can score, trading Tkachuk for futures isn't going to get them to the playoffs sooner than later. Hronek isn't even the sort of D they should be targeting, they need more D whose bread and butter is suppressing goals.
  2. Usually I'd agree, but his production hasn't matched his reputation this season, right now his production is the lowest it's been since he was a Hurricane back in 15-16 I'd be thrilled to get a 2nd but there isn't much of a track record of teams giving up a high picks for the rights to players in recent years, it's just been the Rags acquiring Fox I don't doubt we could get something, but I'd be surprised if it's a 2nd
  3. Doubtful that a team gives up a 2nd for Lindholm's signing rights, more than likely it'd be a 3rd at best Trades for rights typically involve lower picks as the trade return, and if the Canucks don't plan on signing Lindholm they'd be dumb to turn down whatever they could potentially get back Last season the highest pick a team gave up for just the rights to a player was a 3rd, and the player was a young RFA goaltender https://www.nhl.com/kings/news/kings-acquire-rights-to-goaltender-erik-portillo-from-the-buffalo-sabr-341687898 There was no 3rd rounder or better traded just for rights during 2021-2022 Same goes for the 2020-2021 season https://www.nhl.com/news/2020-21-nhl-trades-325638984 Or the 2019-2020 season https://www.nhl.com/news/2019-20-nhl-trades-319313416 The rights to Kevin Hayes got the Jets a 5th during the 18-19 season The rights to Adam Fox got the Canes a 2nd and a conditional 3rd, Fox was an anomaly in that he basically forced his way to the Rags and went on to be a #1D, Lindholm now ain't what Fox was then Fox went up to put up 42 in 72 during his rookie season before following that up with 47 in 55, the following year, the past three seasons he's put up 70+ points, If anything the Canes took a risk getting his rights from Calgary, couldn't sign him, and then simply got what they could from the one team Fox would sign with Kings gave up a 5th for the rights to Kubalik https://www.nhl.com/news/2018-19-nhl-trades-307839254 Oftentimes when rights are involved teams are just swapping the rights to different players
  4. I get that Janssen and Strickland have NHL ties but after poking around reddit and twitter I've yet to find anything that doesn't look like baseless speculation or talk meant to drive engagement I've yet to come across anything from the more reputable insiders who break or share significant news If there was something to this you'd think there'd be more chatter amongst the larger insiders who do hockey media for a living Even the original bit podcast bit says Ottawa "may have" kicked the tires on what a potential return might look, they even say he hasn't asked for a trade This isn't the type of player Ottawa should be moving, if they can address their bleeding goals they're likely a playoff team next season imo
  5. I'll be surprised if he goes anywhere, he's not the sort of player teams want to move and the acquisition cost would likely be astronomical given he's locked for another four seasons at 8.2M It'd be odd if they knew he didn't want to be a Senator going forward this far out unless he's requested a trade
  6. Wish I could fuck around at a job this much and come out ahead like this lousy piece of trash
  7. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/video/saturday-headlines-desire-to-announce-coyotes-move-this-week/ https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2892505?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  8. Hughes is absolutely a stud, but Josi's doing it at 33
  9. @JeremyCuddles Hard to imagine the Coyotes coming back any time soon with him as the owner if he can't even acquire land for a potential arena
  10. Matthews sits at 69 goals, Leafs play Florida and then Tampa, it'd be funny if both teams stymied Matthews and he finished just shy of 70
  11. With four points thus far Josi's up to 85 on the season, what a stud
  12. They still have a good shot at getting in too, particularly if they win tonight Back to backs against the Habs is the easiest path of any team still trying to get in
  13. Doubtful, there are few people in the NHL history who receive the kind of reverence Yzerman gets in Detroit He'll probably get as long as he needs
  14. Nah, the Wings have taken a step forward and whether they make the playoffs or not they've put themselves in the mix up until the very end, that's progress tbh. Not the result they want, that's playoffs, but almost getting there is progress from being a bottom feeder.
  15. Couldn't they? The only central team in a wildcard is Nashville, Vegas holds the other one and could leapfrog LA and take the last divisional slot. They both have three games left and LA's only a point ahead of Vegas. Unless I've read what you said wrong? Most teams have a preference, but it really looks like a pick your poison thing this go round. Nashville's a legitimate threat with good tending, Vegas has Stone on the way and just got Hertl into the lineup, and LA's LA.
  16. Won't be an easy task Pittsburgh plays Boston tonight and then Nashville and the Isles, that Isles game will be huge The Isles play the Devils and the aforementioned Pens game Washington plays Boston and Philly Philly's basically done, they sit at 87 points with a game to go and they play that Caps game Philly can't catch the Isles, it has to hope that Washington, Pittsburgh, and Detroit shit the bed while winning their next game Detroit is tied at 4 and has an upcoming back to back two game series against the Habs
  17. Kuzmenko up to 20 Vegas are going to the playoffs
