  1. If our window is limited to what remains of Miller's prime than management won't be doing a good job going forward.
  2. No, in fact I was one of the more vocal voices that didn't want us to acquire Guentzel.. I wasn't advocating for further large scale moves.
  3. Maybe, every team that makes the playoffs has a shot, but I'd be surprised Not disappointed by any stretch, but surprised I'm pretty pragmatic regarding talks of cups and contention
  4. Because he's never had a contract that's featured an NTC of any sort https://www.capfriendly.com/players/tyler-toffoli Toffoli is a fine player, which is why he gets flipped when team's fortunes dip
  5. The other win for the Canucks is still having both their 2025 and 2026 1st and 2nd round picks They've done a solid job drafting with top picks, hopefully they hold on to these and do more of it
  6. Solid pickup for Toronto, they did a decent job considering they weren't willing to part with much Thought for sure they'd trade their 1st
  7. And it will be, absolutely. Making the playoffs that initial time is how a team becomes a playoff regular. But the other bits I've mentioned are why I'm expecting a first or second round exit. I'd be surprised if we go further, not because I think the team is shit, but because typically teams have to do their time before going deep. I've been consistent in my stance that we're probably a few years out from contending and have been going back to CDC days, more than likely we'll have to experience some playoff heartbreak before we get a payoff, if we get a payoff. The Canucks are competitive, that's great, but there have been growing pains and we'll probably see some more going forward.
  8. The Canucks making the playoffs at all makes the season a success, anything come playoff time is gravy. Making the playoffs is how you get playoff experience, and that's not nothing, most teams need to beat their heads against the playoff wall for a while before finally breaking through. The only team in recent memory who didn't was Chicago, who walked to a cup championship in 2010 after making the conference final the season prior (after missing for a while). Next up would be LA, who won the cup in 2012 after going out come playoff time the two season prior. Every other cup winner over the past decade or so had to wait longer, but was still a playoff regular. Teams coming out of nowhere and winning a cup is rare, if you look at the history it tells as much.
  9. We've made the playoffs twice in roughly ten years, forgive me for not expecting a core that's relatively inexperienced regarding playoffs to not waltz straight to a cup after a few years of missing the playoffs
  10. Yeah, that's def a curveball Plus Marchessault But Stone isn't guaranteed
  11. Maybe the Blues revisit moving him at the draft, teams will have a better idea of their future cap outlooks at that point
  12. Def, could be a top of the west group If they can stay ahead they won't have to, their current games in hand will be key
  13. Suddenly the Sharks return doesn't look as good, but good on them for being decisive and getting something
  14. As much as it'll suck for the rest of the Pacific, I really like the Hertl deal for San Jose They're likely gonna be at the bottom for a while, Hertl would just age and depreciate there Better to get assets now, the dead cap won't matter because they're a bottom feeder
  15. Good for San Jose though, Hertl was going to be wasted there
