  1. Plus he's a pending UFA who'll want to get paid
  2. Hold on to your seats, Vegas likely ain't done
  3. I could see it, Vegas doesn't give a shit what their rebuild will look like if they can win multiple cups
  4. Good fit for their style though, big body who can score
  5. Could be they make another move if Washington retains
  6. Maybe, but I'm not sure the Pens would want to pay DeBrusk or give him term, he's prime aged but he doesn't really help them get younger or cut cap You're probably closer on the value though, certainly
  7. I'd be surprised, he's probably just a cost-effective body I was under the impression his play has fallen off since his Tampa days, which led them to shipping him out
  8. Maybe, maybe not, but when comparing their production I would say that Guentzel is probably worth more. I reckon we'd be giving up more than just a 3rd on top of Lindholm, I reckon we'd be giving up a solid prospect. That return only gives them Lysell as a player who probably plays sooner than later, they probably aren't getting a top notch prospect for DeBrusk, who they would likely flip. Maybe throw D Petey in there instead of the 3rd, maybe we get a little back from Pittsburgh on top of Guentzel to even the scales. But I'm operating under the impression that both teams would be paying for players they'd keep, not for rentals.
  9. Overall, yes. But the Lindholm trade was a separate transaction. Kuzmenko was neutral value at best. The best part we gave up for Lindholm was the 1st, whatshisname the prospect, probably wasn't going to sign here. Lindholm doesn't cancel out Guentzel for Pittsburgh, they won't want him and Boston has limited buying power in terms of picks and prospects. If both Vancouver and Boston are getting players they want one has to think that Pittsburgh is likely getting picks/prospects back. I have a hard time seeing us just giving up Lindholm in a three way trade, he hasn't looked as good as Guentzel has this season. I did say I was spitballing.
  10. I did say I was spitballing, and crazier things have happened, look at what Tampa threw at Nashville for Jeannot But Boston needs to move out cap for it to work, maybe lessen the overall cost for each team a bit but I do think DeBrusk would have to go for it to work
  11. That'd be a bit of a stretch imo, he'll be 25 in July and the pedigree ain't there as an undrafted guy, his point totals don't blow anyone away either I'll spitball though To Vancouver Guentzel To Boston Lindholm To Pittsburgh Vancouver 2025 1st Jake DeBrusk (who is later flipped) Fabian Lysell D Petey Boston 2025 3rd Pittsburgh takes the cap to make it work in Debrusk, instead of Boston paying Vancouver they end up paying Pittsburgh to take DeBrusk and to bring the overall cost down for Van Both Guentzel and Lindholm sign extensions, DeBrusk's 4M going out covers the Lindholm extension
  12. Boston already has Lindholm, he's on the IR Guess they might want second Lindholm
  13. Teams will have to up their ante if they want him though, the article speaks to current offers not making it worth it
  14. I'd imagine both us and Boston would be paying Pittsburgh, Bruins have one of the weaker prospect pools around the league
  15. Bruins have almost no cap space and would have to ship cap out to bring cap in, gotta wonder how that'd work for them, I can see how Lindholm would appeal to them though Pens would likely have to take Zacha or Debrusk, but I suppose they could try and flip Debrusk giving he's a pending UFA as well Pittsburgh has 4.5M in space
  16. I doubt Giroux leaves, he's a bit unique in that he's always wanted to be a Senator After the Panthers acquired him he could have definitely caught on with more competitive teams, he chose to go home https://theathletic.com/3420245/2022/07/13/senators-claude-giroux-signing-free-agency-nhl/
  17. It doesn't, but it does speak to the offers not being palatable thus far It also speaks to them wanting to retain him despite some present disagreement "Tyler knows how much I'd like to bring him back, but unfortunately right now, there's a possible term difference (in contract talks). That doesn't mean we can't revisit this past the deadline, if he's still here, or in the offseason."
  18. He brings some beef, yeah I hate how the Canucks throw around 2nd round picks, but depending on the prospect I'd accept a 2nd+ for Tarasenko instead of giving up a 1st+ for Guentzel I want management to make a habit of actually selecting players with their 1st round picks, they've done a pretty good job when they have thus far
  19. 17 goals and 41 points in 57 games, he's still a top six forward He could possibly get 25+ with the Canucks
