I've had CDC/CFF pegged as being on the older side for years, but I don't view that as a negative If anything, engaging with older folks here helps temper some of the resentment I have for older generations, and it's considerable
  2. Lumped in with the rest of the waiver guys, so this one It was announced a while ago
  3. Mmm, Guentzel is the most sought after forward on the market and Dubas needs this trade to be a win. I'm not so sure. I still think they'd be asking for Hoglander over Podz, he'd slot into their lineup now. Hoglander looks like he could be a top six player, I'm not sure Podz amounts to being more than a bottom six guy.
  4. I think they'd be asking for Hoglander over Podkolzin, Podz is not a young NHL player, he's still more of a prospect who's looking to grab an NHL spot

  6. If they can't re-sign them, yeah They'll do what's best for the future and let the chips fall as they will
  7. "If we can add, we will. Are we going to subtract? Absolutely not," Lamoriello said, per The Athletic's Arthur Stape. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2854496/lamoriello-islanders-absolutely-not-selling-at-deadline
  8. It always made more sense for them to try and retain him, he's helped stabilize their offense during a season wrought with tough injuries
  9. Flames probs don't make the playoffs, but more than likely if they can keep playing competitive hockey down the stretch management will opt to try and compete next season Mushy middle, sure, but they'll get assets for Hanifin and maybe Markstrom sooner than later Bolstering their prospect pool while trying to compete is what we tried under Benning, but maybe they could make it work Teardowns don't guarantee success either
  10. Not sure about Myers, it depends on what week to week means
  11. Sure, but trades have to make sense for both sides and the Isles taking on Mikheyev doesn't make sense for them. If anything Lou might roll the dice on Tarasenko because he expires at the end of the season despite typically not liking to rent. Mayfield will be back and he's signed to term, they can't permanently fill that cap space with someone else. Sorokin's cap hit jumps from 4M to 8.5M and the Isles have limited cap space coming off the books this offseason. Dobson will be due for a huge raise from his current 4M after next season, Romanov will get a raise too if they keep him. The Isles won't start to have more cap flex til the 24-25 and 25-26 offseasons, when Nelson and Palmeiri and then both Lee and Pageau come off the books respectively. And that's assuming none of these players are retained.
  12. No, given their cap outlook his two remaining years would be more of a headache than a help
  13. They're not going to have an easy opponent regardless, the west is finally starting to clarify a bit LA and Nashville both hold the wildcards with 72 points apiece, but LA has two games in hand on Vegas, who has 73 points St. Louis lags behind all of the above with 67 in 61, they're not out of it but their two game winning streak only brings them up to roughly .500 over their past 10 St. Louis would probably be my most preferred opponent, but I don't know if they'll be able to reel in any of the others None of Nashville, LA, or Vegas are appealing 8th seed matchups But neither is Edmonton, who despite the shit folks like to throw at them, has been playing a much more complete game since the coaching change McDavid and Draisaitl can dominate when they're on as well, we've seen them do it come playoff time before Which is why I don't really care if the Oil do pass us, we'd have to go through one of LA, Edmonton, or Vegas sooner or later to reach a conference final anyway
  14. Hard to see them being in on Hanifin unless they're sending Romanov+ back Both Romanov and Dobson are pending RFA's after next season, Dobson is going to get a helluva raise on his current 4M Pulock and Pelech are also both locked in long-term, as is Mayfield More than likely if the Isles add they'll be looking up front, @RWJC said they're checking in on Tarasenko and that's an option they could afford I saw something yesterday saying Ottawa's looking for a 2nd and a prospect, Isles could part with a 2nd but the prospect would have to be of lesser caliber Lou typically doesn't do rentals either, which muddies things, Isles don't have a ton of cap expiring this coming offseason and the Sorokin extension will be kicking in If they want to add a sizeable cap hit they'll probably trade Palmieri, who has a 16-team NTC
  15. Aye, and I do think they'll look to add Depth can be the difference maker down the stretch and in the playoffs
  16. That works too Ngl, I remember that cartoon, was good
  17. We should have done it, Ivan Ivan in Van
