  1. I agree, but Guentzel is a great player a d realistically he's a player they should be asking for as a team that needs top end youth Agreed That would be my preference, yes
  2. Odds are they'd want something better than Podz imo I imagine they'd want Lekkerimaki
  3. Hmm, they were pretty hot there for a while, it wasn't all luck They're just losing at the worst time, when Nashville is winning
  4. The stock answer is that it depends on how many teams want him But I wouldn't be surprised if he got a 3rd That being said, given how nuts Tampa went for Jeannot I'm not all that sure how to gauge rough and tumble players
  5. They're not gonna be an easy out come playoff time, they likely won't contend but they could win a round The Wild are in tough now, should likely sell what they can
  6. I don't disagree, this season will likely be their best shot
  7. Panthers gonna have numerous tough decisions to make this offseason, they're likely gonna lose at least one very good player for nothing
  8. Five goal third period for the Jets, what an uncharacteristic collapse for Carolina
  9. Maybe Washington retains 50% to move him cheaper, could be a lower risk reclamation project for a team at such a cap hit and term
  10. Probably part of it I said it the other day, Pettersson has never seemed keen on media duties so why would he sign up to deal with more of it? I don't think he ever really wanted to be captain, and that's fine, maybe he didn't want the additional pressure Sometimes it's better for top end forwards to just focus on playing their game, some folks shit on Henrik's captaincy but he balanced playing at a high level with gracefully being a captain in a rabid Canadian market I doubt it's easy He sure took his lumps from the media and the fanbase, Horvat handled the role well too despite the lumps he also took from the media and the fanbase Being a captain in a Canadian market is a thankless job, it just puts a bigger target on your back
  11. Doubt they're terminating considering he just exited the program, why would he give up that money? Probably hoping someone takes him, otherwise they may pay to dump him
  12. Vanek was fun as a Canuck, one of the UFA signings from that period that actually worked out Him and Miller both
  13. It's not as if he needs the money, neat that he wants to be involved with the Canucks
  14. Early 2000's, my friends were Canucks fans, one of the older friends I really admired was a diehard Canucks Can't remember first game I remember, would have been tail end of WCE era, so 2003-2004 probs Saw them beat the Preds back during the mid 2010's Favourite jersey? The Sedin era stick probs, although I'd love to see them revamp the skate with green, blue, and white
  15. Pettersson's never seemed to like dealing with the media, and likely doesn't any more than he has to Which is fine, it ain't for everyone
  16. If Pettersson took a discount it's likely by a few hundred thousand, which amounts to nothing really Maybe that extra 400k makes the difference for a bottom six guy, but he simply got close to market value imo Most stars don't take significant discounts, or discounts at all
  17. Tad lower than I thought it'd be, figured he'd get 12M or a little more, but pretty close Little surprised he opted for term, but it puts where he'll be playing to bed Likely ends up a career Canuck, one who holds some all-time offensive records for Canuck forwards
  18. Tampa really doesn't have much to offer, Flames should look elsewhere if possible
  19. Hard to say, Lindholm still seems to be acclimatizing as is, Guentzel may have to adjust to whichever team he acquires as well, same would presumably go for Necas Knock Pettersson or not, he already knows the systems and personnel
