  1. Capfriendly has him at 2x$787,500, he's a cost effective bottom six guy
  2. Nobody outside of management and Pettersson's agent probably actually know, everyone else is probably talking out their ass There's a lot of speculation regarding what he wants but management has done a good job of keeping details in house
  3. Doubt it, Mikheyev probably doesn't shift things much in their forward group and the Pens need someone to play defense. As you've said, he's on a very reasonable deal going forward, I think he stays. I think if Pittsburgh trades a D it'll probably be Pettersson, he's got a season remaining at just over 4M and if the Pens flounder again next season I wouldn't be surprised to see him being willing to move on as a UFA. Which means he'd probably be traded.
  4. Thing about reffing is every fanbase in the league complains about it, Canucks fans aren't the only ones who feel like the refs are out to get them. Sometimes it's egregiously ugly like it was against the Wild, but by and large it's just shit around the league in general. Some of it's also on the players to not give the refs things to call. Fans can complain about the reffing, but nothing good comes of coaching staff and players talking about it to the media. Honestly though, we're still relatively healthy. We're only really missing Joshua and Soucy, if the rest of the guys can't step it up and pick up their physical play in their absence that says more about the rest of the team than our injury scenario. It's two guys. I'm expecting more physicality next game.
  5. Reffing has been a factor for years though, and likely will be come playoff time. Gotta find a way to overcome. You're not wrong, but we're also feeling the impact of injuries a bit more than usual and if anything we were probably overdue for that. We've been uncharacteristically healthy this season. The PK was better last night, but the powerplay still looks to be in a funk and it wasn't for a lack of opportunity. We got two cracks at it, Avs only got three. We were clearly the better faceoff team but the Avs thoroughly outplayed us in the physical department. Hits were 27 to 15.
  6. On one hand, it's taken us this long to garner a three game losing streak which is impressive On the other hand, if you discount the bizarro Wild game we lost to a couple top western teams in Winnipeg and Colorado Couple potential western conference finals matchups and they look like teams who could beat us, I expect Colorado will add as well That being said, gotta get out of the first couple rounds before dwelling on that too much, we aren't a slam dunk western conference finalist Better to face adversity sooner than later
  7. Canucks bounce back with a 4-3 win Pettersson gwg
  8. Was about to post it, one of the nicest goals I've seen this season He's really had a good season, this is why folks shouldn't write young guys off early, particularly when they're high picks
  9. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2849382/report-dubas-listening-on-all-penguins-non-core-players Except for his star-laden core, Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas is entertaining offers on his entire roster, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun. Reilly Smith is among the candidates to be moved, LeBrun adds. Dubas acquired Smith, who has a 10-team no-trade clause, from the Vegas Golden Knights over the summer. Smith, 32, has managed 22 points in 46 games for Pittsburgh this season and is under contract through 2025 at a $5-million cap hit. Dubas' desire to keep Pittsburgh's core intact could end trade speculation around star forward Jake Guentzel. The pending unrestricted free agent has been involved in rumors throughout his contract year but is a mainstay on the Penguins' top line alongside Sidney Crosby when healthy. Pittsburgh is trending toward missing the playoffs for the second consecutive campaign. The team entered Tuesday's action nine points back of a wild-card seed and 10 points back of third place in the Metropolitan Division. The March 8 deadline is Dubas' first with the Penguins after a nine-year stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
