  1. The suspension sticks https://media.nhl.com/public/news/17751
  2. We were up 5-2 and I was like yeah, this is probably enough Then the third period happened and it was like what the fuck I'm not even mad, sometimes you just gotta laugh
  3. Refs were whistle happy, we were a tad too undisciplined, DeSmith wasn't at his best, the Wild's top players came to play Was just the perfect culmination that turned what I thought was a sure Canucks win into a bit of a clusterfuck
  4. That's fine, my recollection was more generalized and not tethered exclusively to this season.
  5. This season? Probably, they've won a fair bit more than they've lost. Over the years? It hasn't been uncommon for them to struggle during early games.
  6. Dunno, Flames players all seem to love him though They're in a weird spot where they'll likely be sellers but they're within striking distance of a playoff spot https://calgaryherald.com/sports/hockey/nhl/calgary-flames/andrei-kuzmenko-locker-room-fave-flames
  7. The Canucks and early games just don't work nicely together for whatever reason
  8. It didn't matter in the end, but impressive nonetheless Good for him
  9. Not sure I've ever watched a game that featured three hat tricks before, wild game overall The Wild's previous record for most goals in a game (regular season or playoffs) was 8: https://stathead.com/tiny/Etqvi Today's game was the first NHL game since 1993 where multiple players had 6+ points: https://stathead.com/tiny/FOYcQ The Canucks' 7 goals scored is tied for the most in a loss in franchise history: https://stathead.com/tiny/Yd9n9 First NHL game since 2005 that a team had at least 4 players with 4+ points: https://stathead.com/tiny/tM7R3 This was the 6th time since 2000 that a team has had 7 goals in a period: https://stathead.com/tiny/OGMSV
  10. Tough game. DeSmith wasn't his best, neither were our special teams. Yeah, we got a rough ride by the refs but our PK still bled goals. Minny's top players came to play too, Ek, Kaprizov, Boldy, and Zuccarello all had impressive games. They'll ever trade Ek but we sure could use a player like him, although I suppose we have one now in Lindholm.
  11. Some of it is on DeSmith, some of it is on the refs But a lot of it is also on special teams, powerplays only matter if you convert on them, we've given up a lot today Powerplay only broke through once too
  12. Had to be one game DeSmith has been good for us all season, sometimes things just go sideways
  13. They want Demko against the Avs, no point playing him now
  14. Wow, I was sure Minnesota was toast This is entertaining
  15. I know the Sabres are struggling this season but the Ducks sure can be plucky at times They'd get a good price for either of Vatrano or Henrique, but I can't help but wonder whether they shouldn't just try to retain one or both of them Tough call, they'd certainly be selling high Henrique likely goes, I wonder if they won't extend Vatrano though
  16. If it gives him a better chance to chase his dream, good for him Having a logjam will deter players, it is what it is, no need to fuss about it
