  1. Wonder who they'll call up to give them a hand two hands
  2. I disagree, there's not a whole lot of pressure for the Flames to rush a trade when the deadline is still a little ways off. Granted, there's the risk Tanev gets hurt, but there's also a better likelihood of teams getting more desperate as the deadline approaches. The Flames may not be all that keen on helping the Leafs after Treliving left, but I do believe they're more than willing to hose them for a 1st if they can get one. There's a solid chance they could too tbh, As of today the Leafs are 7th in the East with 62 points, they have Detroit (60), New Jersey (58), and New York (57) on their tail. The Leafs missing the playoffs would be considered disastrous. Philly's also been sliding but should be in the mix around the fringes, they're two points ahead of the Leafs. Dallas is supposedly amongst the teams interested in Tanev too. The Flames know they can get a 2nd+, it's not a matter of whether they can or not, more than likely they're holding out to see if they can get a 1st. I don't think it'll come down to being equal, Conroy has to get the best return he can for Tanev, period. Tanev has little control over his destination beyond his 10-team NTC. Flames are looking to retool more than rebuild, they have to hit a home run with this trade. Short of them trading Hanifin prior to Tanev it's likely the Flames will set the D market with a Tanev trade.
  3. Yeah, he's probs more in the 2.5-3.25M range. Probably the higher end via UFA.
  4. May not be to the Devils, but we could see a Markstrom trade sooner than later
  5. It isn't bold, but I could see them moving Provorov and Roslovick Provorov moreso if they don't think they can retain him beyond next season Lybushkin would be a savvy add
  6. Maybe, but perhaps not as a GM, doubt anyone will be chomping at the bit to hire him as a top guy AGM maybe
  7. If there are 10+ teams inquiring about Tanev it'd likely take more than a 2nd and a middling to lower tier prospect
  8. One last ride https://www.nhl.com/news/zach-parise-chasing-stanley-cup-for-last-time-with-colorado
  9. Firing was overdue though, be interesting to see what other changes are made from an organizational standpoint
  10. If anything they're less likely to move Jiricek now, and it was never likely
  11. Hard to see them moving on from him so quickly after acquiring him, particularly given he plays with Hughes. Ideally he'd play on the second pairing and we'd split offense from the D up, but we'll see what happens. Some around here argue he's a 2D, he'll likely get paid as such. Could see him earning 7.5-8.5 long-term. That'd take him to about 35. Longer term might bring the cap hit down. Probably on the higher end if the Canucks want to opt for less term, say 4-6 years or so.
  12. Pretty much, only way I'd take Tanev at this point is via UFA. I'm not interested in giving up the assets it'd take to acquire him via trade, and I recognize his value as a defensive defenseman. But I'm also not as driven by sentiment when it comes to acquiring Tanev, if he doesn't play for the Canucks again it won't bother me. Outside of cheaper depth acquisitions at this point I'd just let it ride and see what happens.
  13. That he can If this team is as good as some proclaim it is I don't see why he'd hurt it
