  1. That he can If this team is as good as some proclaim it is I don't see why he'd hurt it
  2. Most forwards don't age like elite guys, Phil doesn't need to be elite though He's not coming in as a savior, he's coming in as depth and that's great There's no reason he can't provide depth scoring on the third or fourth line Maybe he even fits on the second line, chemistry is tough to predict, he's got the smarts and track record to do it
  3. I'd imagine so, it's a common practice to give up your number to an incoming vet That being said, Kessel did wear 8 in Vegas due to Marchessault's already using it Could very easily see him opting for 8 again
  4. I wouldn't even be a little upset if he did, careers can be brief for third and fourth line guys
  5. Joshua's played parts of four NHL seasons, despite this capfriendly has his career earnings sitting at $1,580,491. Hard to gauge whether that's before or after taxes, I'd assume before. Dude will be 28 in May. Credit to him for capitalizing on his opportunities as a Canuck, but it may be in his best interest to secure the biggest bag he can. This next contract will likely be the biggest he'll ever be able to ask for. It'd be neat to see him back, but I'm hoping he chases the bag and sets himself up financially.
  6. After exploding for six assists last game McDavid is tied with Pastrnak for third in scoring with 77 points, trailing only MacKinnon (87) and Kucherov (90). Who'd have thought after the Oil's early season struggles that McDavid would be in a position to win the Art Ross yet again, despite the Oil having adjusted to play a more sound defensive game. He's got a legit shot at it, when it comes to being an offensive dynamo he's tough to bet against. I'm rooting for Mac though personally, hoping Kucherov slows down a bit.
  7. Even if he has lost some wheels, and that remains to be seen, there's no doubt he's probably got more hockey sense than anyone on our fourth line Can't teach smarts, he's got em Having a guy like him on the third or fourth line bolsters our depth, all he needs to do is help the third or fourth line score against lesser opposition, having been a skill guy for as long as he has there's a good chance he can do that
  8. Folks will argue that Tochett knows his stuff And then argue about Kessel after Tochett says he thinks he can still bring it Pick one
  9. Not sure Kessel would get it second, I could see it being Myers given he'd be the oldest guy on the club winning his first cup

It'd be kinda a Sundin jersey, much heralded player finally making their way to Van, Leafs can never have their career Leaf Sundin He's Canucks legend Sundin We haven't had a signing this fun in ages
  11. Sounds just like the single, shame they're calling it quits, they're arguably the biggest they've been since Fat Lip dropped They sound better than ever too
