  1. What about Canucks legends Mats Sundin and Rory Fitzpatrick?
  2. After adding Stephenson and Montour one would imagine they're set on getting back into the playoffs, yeah. If they fall out of the playoffs he'd a player who'd garner a lot of interest, and I'm not sure we should be paying for rentals. He'll be 32 in November and this next contract will likely be his last, someone else can trade for him and extend him. If we're willing to pony up what it'd cost to acquire Larsson from a divisional rival I'd rather bang hard on the door for Zub if Ottawa's out of the mix. If that means waiving Juulsen and having four RD in Hronek, Myers, Zub, and Desharnais, or moving Deshairnais out, so be it. Hell, bumping Forbort into the 7D slot and having D like the following could be an option if we can accumulate the cap space. Hughes-Hronek Soucy-Zub Deshairnais-Myers Forbort Could even have it Soucy-Myers and Desharnais-Zub if one wants to stabilize Myers. Ideally we find someone to bump Myers down to the third pairing, if that means delaying Willander's stepping into the NHL that doesn't bother me in the slightest. Willander will be 20 in February, he can spend this coming season playing for Boston Uni again and then get some AHL time if there isn't room in the bigs, it's not as if he couldn't benefit from it. That would have him breaking in as what'd hopefully be a regular at 22. D tend to take longer anyway and Willander was an 11OA pick, not a 5OA, guys in that bracket often need time to stew anyway when you consider the history of players picked at that slot. I understand folks wanting to capitalize on his ELC, but there's really no reason to rush Willander. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/draft_by_pick.php?position=11
  3. Probably something contract related, maybe it expired and they didn't wanna pay
  4. Idk about addiction, couldn't player assistance just be mental health? I get not wanting him for injury/hockey reasons, but I ain't gonna dump on a guy for struggling with mental health, wealth and privilege don't make one exempt from that sort of struggle despite providing the opportunity to access resources less fortunate people cannot Wouldn't knock him for substance use either, that's an issue that affects every single demographic of society
  5. If he's waivers eligible they'd either have to be content with keeping him on the roster or losing him for nothing though, which should affect the price He's not a young prospect though, 24 in February, he'd be interesting for the right price but we don't exactly need him
  6. Yeah, I said as much, they're done with the touring aspect but that doesn't necessarily mean they won't continue to put out music With today's streaming services, online stores, and the like they could continue to bring in revenue other ways, they're established enough that they could get likely do just fine doing exactly that
  7. I'm not sure they're done, but it's hard to find anything definitive They'll be done in the sense that they won't be touring, but I've read bits about how they/Mike want to continue putting out music as NOFX They're established enough, and the music world has changed enough, that they could probably just get away with releasing music and merch I'm hoping that's what they end up doing
  8. Yeah, it's been strange. Him and Elliotte were supposed to host their finale or something and they never even got around to that. I think the last episode was done without him if I remember correctly. He's basically vanished over the past month.
  9. I don't really think we need him now tbh, we've got plenty of forwards The cap doesn't quite work out either If we bring in a larger cap hit it should probably be a defenseman
  10. I've been playing around with it, I'm really glad the person who did the depth charts for CapFriendly went on to take his work elsewhere. I'm hoping they change the interface a bit, the scroll bar for stats behind towards the bottom seems clumsy, but I'm glad it's all neat and in one place.
  11. How serendipitous, only a couple hours later and this news drops. This should be really useful.
  12. Could Utah be a fit? Doesn't seem like the BJ's are looking for a hockey trade so to speak. Laine with retainment would be much better value depending on the retainment.
  13. @Roger Neilsons Towel can you pin this please
  14. I made a thread asking which hockey resources folks utilize earlier this month, this is a follow up thread to simply lay them out in a more organized fashion; the idea behind all this is to simply have a convenient one-stop shop sort of thread for these tools and resources. With CapFriendly having gone dark there are a few different cap sites floating around, amongst other resources. Puckpedia is probably the go-to Capfriendly replacement. There will be surely be more to come, so if you come across useful hockey tools and resources as we go forward feel free to mention them and I'll try to get around to adding them to the OP. For the most part I've avoided creating a massive list of individual twitter accounts, simply because there's such a broad pool of people who are news sources and so on, but if you have a recommendation that functions as a useful tool or resource please feel free to recommend it as well. 15. Raty? Probably not. But with Suter being a pending UFA and OEL's cap penalty jumping after next season he could be a potential lower cost replacement, him or maybe Aman. I don't think he'll be a top 6 guy going forward, but he'll be 22 in November so there's still plenty of time for Raty to develop. I'd sooner dangle a winger like Klimovich. We could even see Podkolzin moved, or Hoglander, though I think we'd have to bring back more than Soderstrom imo. Definitely, he could still bulk up some more.
  16. Ideally, no, we really don't have much in the way of young centers in the system
  17. Yeah, his actual size is anyone's guess. Puckpedia has him at 6'0" and 195 whereas the Tuscon Roadrunners site has him at 5'11" and 186, which is also closer to what Elite Prospects has him at. Either way, he's a little bigger than Hughes. With the rest of our D being on the larger side, and Hronek being closer to average, maybe management believes we can get away with another slightly smaller guy. I'd be interested depending on what Utah wants for him.
  18. I think the rumours going around had him asking for more than this tbh, so that negotiation tactic looks to have worked. At first glance it seems high, but factor in the cap jumps we've been seeing (and that we'll probably continue to see) and this will probably look more normal going forward. A rising tide (cap) may raise all ships, but it's the top six tier forwards and top four tier D who will see the most of that cap space, along with your top tier goaltenders.
