As of today Bergeron is 38 and retired, Kopitar is 36 and still playing.
Bergeron's last three seasons: 58 in 78, 65 in 73, 48 in 54.
Kopitar's current season and previous two: 39 in 44, 74 in 82, 67 in 81.
Kopitar's a bit younger, absolutely, but he's a stud and he's also a Selke caliber player, having won two of them and been in the conversation for more.
Kopitar will be 37 in August and is signed for two more seasons, we'll see how he does but I expect he'll maintain the status quo or close to it.
I've repeatedly sung Kopitar's praises, he's basically a superior version of Getzlaf. If he'd done what he's done out East instead of LA, he'd probably be more heralded.
