  1. Yup, like em or not, the Leafs are one of the league's biggest revenue drivers
  2. I have a hard time seeing Necas being available if Carolina still fancies themselves a contender I'm not sure that kind of center is available for Calgary, they'd probably be better selling and hoping for Celebrini
  3. Let's speculate for funsies To Calgary 2024 1st Raanta (1.5M) Martinook (1.8M) DeAngelo (1.65M) 4.95M in total, all pending UFA's To Carolina Markstrom (6M) 2026 3rd (Vancouver's) Carolina has 1.8M in cap space and can eat the cap difference, I don't see Calgary wanting to retain on Markstrom the next two seasons, but maybe they opt to retain 1-2M or so in order for Carolina to try and retain Martinook if Carolina adds Calgary takes the 1st and tries to flip the players they get
  4. He does make a fair point. If it were OT, sure, make sure it's right because that's two points or a playoff win on the line, but the spirit of the challenge should be to try their best to get obvious miscalls corrected, not enact a lengthy process during regular time.
  5. Somehow forgot to predict last time 4-3 Sabres Thompson
  6. Sure, but that's not the conversation I was having, the one you butted into.
  7. Yes, the trade has worked out, but your whataboutism is tired and old when the topic at hand was the importance of drafting and development. Let's not pretend poaching an RFA top 4D is a commonplace occurrence that regularly happens. Credit to management, but if it were easy every team would do it.

  9. I could see him potentially being available, I can also see the Sens wanting to keep him I think he could be had for the right price but a team would have to give up something good
  10. I think he'll end up being their interim captain, Hawks fans seem to like him Gotta have some sort of leadership in the room
  11. That's it I think, but I think teams likely value Gibson and Marky more Wouldn't be surprised to see the Elvis/Campbell swap with Edmonton that folks were talking about earlier this season
  12. I can't play hockey but I'll happily take their money and run off to Robidas island..
  13. It's probably the pose, but your picture icon always reminds me of this piece of art..
  14. This is true, but that being said.. fuck Mike Keenan..
  15. Agreed The best way to acquire top end talent and maintain a sustainable competitive window hinges upon being able to not only draft, but properly develop and integrate your own talent
  16. The Luongo acquisition was one of the best trades we've made, it also got us Makrstrom in the end But Markstrom and Demko highlight why being able to develop players is important, and Demko is an example of why 2nd round picks aren't the throwaway currency some folks make them out to be
  17. Anaheim's probably rubbing their hands waiting for someone to pay for Markstrom, they'll likely get a better haul for Gibson
  18. Just saw that, interesting times in Calgary Doesn't really leave them with a starter, at this rate it'll be more interesting to see who they keep
  19. Probs, Guerin's signings haven't all been perfect but most of his trades haven't hurt the team, things were always gonna be tight with almost 15M in dead cap Gibson could fit on several teams, probs the best tender available even if his numbers don't show it Jersey was poking around, Ottawa could use him, Carolina could maybe use him, Edmonton could but idk how that'd fit, Toronto, Buffalo, maybe LA Put him in Jersey, Carolina, or LA and he'd probably shine, he could very likely help bump Buffalo and Ottawa up as they're weak in net
