  1. It's not Pettersson's job to take less so management can figure out their cap structure and expecting him to isn't realistic Management gets paid handsomely to figure that stuff out, you seem teams dole out large contracts every year and we won't be any different An 100 point RFA is going to get paid, it is what it is If you're bothered by the thought of Pettersson making 10-12M just wait til Hughes is due for a raise, with the incoming cap increases between now and his contract expiry he'll likely get paid even more The cost of success, whether that's individual or team success, is players getting paid, and players get paid regardless of whether you win a cup or not
  2. Game breakers for sure, and two of the biggest reasons Tampa went to three finals in a row
  3. You may need to change your name to that of a Russian player at this point..
  4. Bit of an oddball night tbh, if not for Vasi maybe Edmonton still finds a way to win, dude was a wall Took a historic effort to get the win
  5. Tough break for the BJ's, I was hoping they'd be better this season Should be in the mix for another lottery pick
  6. That's an odd one, 2002 wasn't even that long ago
  7. Apparently he's a hockey analyst for Rogers
  8. Not gonna lie, I was surprised to see Rich Sutter's name, didn't know we'd had a Sutter family member prior to Brandon
  9. Does anyone seriously expect Pettersson to get less than 10.5-11M? Even on a shorter term deal? Boggles the mind. You don't get a mid 20's player who just put up 100 points, and who's on pace to do it again for 9Mish when said player's extension is pending. And before someone says it, Elias is younger than Miller, Miller's contract likely factors in his decline, even a max term contract for Elias likely takes him to an agr where he's still productive to some degree.

  13. Maybe he saw a better opportunity in Washington, or maybe a third Canadian team didn't tickle his fancy
  14. Def Maybe Luukonen or Levi get there eventually but having a great veteran could really benefit them They had one in Anderson the past few years, he was great for that team
  15. Aye Like I said, they're probably a starter, a more defensive oriented bottom six, and a shutdown D away from being a playoff team Not sure the young tenders they have up are up to the task yet
  16. If he continues to rip it up he could bump Esposito down to 11 by the end of the season He's at 1533, Esposito's at 1590 He'll get there, he's got another season on his deal Could see him beating Sakic's 1641 which would have him 9th He'd have to play a few years and really sustain his high level of play to have a shot at Lemiux or Yzerman, even longer to beat Dionne or Francis He could go as high as #5 if he keeps playing, wouldn't surprise me in the least I don't think he reaches Howe though https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl/records/nhl-players-all-time-points-leaders.html
