  1. Yeah, but suddenly we have Myers, Hronek, and Zadorov who can play RD. Not sure Bear is much of an improvement on Juulsen, Irwin, or Friedman. All the other depth guys have been playing regularly this season. RD suddenly doesn't look like it really needs much more.
  2. He did, it's the only time he's topped seven goals in a season though so I'm looking at it as more of a high benchmark than a norm. He provides some size on the back end, we'll see how he does defensively. Not sure he's necessarily a top 4 guy but he's probably just fine as a bottom pairing guy. He'll get a chance to show what he is, hopefully management take a longer look at him as a Canuck as opposed to rushing to hand him an extension.
  3. That eats up all our cap space, wonder if this means we're out on Bear. Not that I'd be disappointed, I'd just run with our own depth guys.
  4. I'm not as sold on him as others, not sure he's actually a top 4 guy, but I'm not gonna complain. That's a helluva price even if he only amounts to being a third pairing guy.
  5. It's end of semester crunch, mostly dead is probably accurate Uhhh, don't think so, had to look that one up I saw some stuff with Moranis in it as a kid but I don't think that was one of them
  6. If you're wondering whether I've ever seen x movie you can probably safely assume I haven't
  7. Wild how it's almost December, where'd the year go?

  8. Aye, but he'll be 27 in January and he's a top 4D He's having a bit of a down season but the last couple seasons show he's capable of being a 40 point guy Not a bargain, but probably fair Wouldn't be surprised to see Hronek get a similar deal, possibly higher depending on how many points he puts up this season
  9. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/noah-hanifin-was-close-on-7-5m-aav-with-calgary-flames-may-be-dealt-with-extension-in-place-1.2042653
  10. Aye, there's a need but at the same time we're not likely to complete our D in-season, more than likely we'll see offseason additions
  11. I think he'll look to, missing the playoffs during the last year of Matthew's and Nylander's contracts would be disastrous for Toronto
  12. Being open to either also opens up trade and UFA options, being set on a top 4RD restricts options quite a bit and it's not as if they can't see what's available in July
  13. With Cole only being signed for the rest of the season I'm not convinced LD VS RD matters, if they can land an LD they like I think they'll do it Can always find an RD later Cole has been very solid but that doesn't guarantee that we extend him That entire second pairing should be considered to be in flux imo
  14. Aye, so they'd have to navigate those, but I think it's doable. It might require a three-way-trade. Bertuzzi is on a one year deal, could be in his best interest to move on if he could get term elsewhere. Same goes for Domi.
  15. Certainly, the end result is the end result but it was still two separate deals. I was underwhelmed by the Horvat return, but I'm also not as high on Raty as some others, and wasn't at the time. Wasn't bad value but I had expected more. I wanted to keep the 1st and 2nd we traded, but I was also firmly on team tank. Sometimes things just work out, I'm glad they did.
  16. Since we're talking Bo trade, I think it's important to remember it was actually two trades that got us Hronek and that each trade also has to be assessed independently. Bo for Raty, a 1st, and a cap dump was a solid but unspectacular return imo. Beau was always a cap piece that made the trade work, but I recall folks wanting to paint him as positive value when really he was just a streaky middle six tweener. I wasn't keen on the Hronek trade at the time but it's worked out, in retrospect it looks pretty good right now. But I recall Wings fans being pretty happy with it at the time, so more than likely the deal was simply fair. Overall, yeah, it's worked out. Credit to management for turning a good but unspectacular trade into what's turned out to be a valuable addition to the blue line.
  17. I think they'll have to find a way to move one of Domi/Bertuzzi I don't know what they're gonna do but gotta thing something's gonna give on D

  19. Could see it taking less tbh, will not be surprised to see him signed He really is, imagine winning a cup before your career even really gets going
