  1. Ex-Canuck Jason Dickinson with his first hatty to propel the Hawks to a win Good, Hawks need to win more so they're further away from the bottom, they don't deserve another top 3 pick
  2. You're assuming that the Flyers view Garland as positive value though, I'm not so sure. 1st is likely to be middling, ideally late. But yeah, it's a 1st. I question the trade value of Podz tbh, he's young enough to still develop into something nice and there's something to be said about being patient with young players, but he really hasn't shown much thus far at the NHL level. His AHL numbers have been better this season, but overall I dunno. I think Philly would be asking for a better prospect, or more in general. Sanheim isn't going to come cheap, he's on pace for career season. I'm also not convinced that he's available, or that he'd even want to come here given his full NTC. This is the first season of his extension, one has to assume he was okay chilling in Philly as they turned things over. I'm pretty sure we'd have to pay for the favour of dumping Beau. I think it'd take more, Laughton has a 3M cap hit and put up 43 points last season. 10 points in 19 games thus far so he's on pace to hit similar numbers. Maybe bump the 3rd up to a 2nd. It doesn't sound like Philly is tearing things down, they want to solidify their young foundation. Sounds like more of a competitive retool, I don't think their better pieces are going to come cheap at all. They're also in the mix for a playoff spot at this point. Philly being open for business sounds like "make us an offer but be prepared to pay".
  3. Sanheim had 31 points in 80 games back in 21-22, he put up 23 points in 81 games in 22-23, he's massively improved on both those year thus far and currently has 16 points in 19 games. He will not come cheap.
  4. If you're asking for Sanheim and Laughton while trying to simultaneously move Garland and Beau's cap out it's probably gonna cost more than Podz, what'll probs be a middling to later 1st, and Silovs.
  5. Or better yet, put the Blackhawks logo on his mask in protest.
  6. Could see Detroit and Philly falling off out East, if the Sabres can tread water with Thompson out they could make a push Wouldn't count Pittsburgh or NYI out, Devils and Sens have played fewer games than the teams ahead of them and could push East is pretty wide open I think the St. Louis or Seattle might drop, Calgary or Anaheim could displace them I'm expecting Seattle to be better going forward though Minny could also climb but they really need to capitalize on their games in hand
  7. Caps have been solid defensively, they're 7th in terms of goals allowed and they're the third least penalized team in the league, they've very disciplined. You'd think that because of their offensive struggles that they'd be one of the teams that falls out of the race, but I'm more inclined that if they can even get closer to being an average team offensively they'll probably be just fine. They're 29th in goals, 27th in shots on goal, and their powerplay is the worst in the league. Their shooting percentage is also tied for 28th. They're missing a healthy Backstrom out there. But again, if they can get some of these team stats even up to say.. 15-20ish while maintaining their defensive play they could be a strong bet for a divisional or wildcard spot. Adding a winger who drives offense or another center would probably really help them, they could theoretically package Mantha and a 2025 2nd for help (they have three: theirs, Boston's, and Colorado's). Mantha's deal is up at the end of the season, not a longer-term issue for a team looking to sell. Oshie not producing hasn't been helping them.
  8. More than likely these media bits originate from Kane's agent, who is trying to get him more than a year Nobody should be giving him more than a year, Backstrom just shut himself down after having the same surgery if I'm not mistaken
  9. I'd be a little surprised if any teams offer him more than a year
  10. Wild should tell him to do it anyway and just refuse to pay
  11. Draisaitl seems a little on the older side if they're trying to build a strong foundation involving their youth I think plenty of teams would be interested in Draisaitl but Philly probably isn't far enough along to be one of them
  12. If that's their approach it'd probably cost more than we're willing to pay for any of their top players Sounds like a competitive retool
  13. Dunno, he's been bringing value but if the Canucks can improve their roster by moving him its worth exploring At the end of the day we're gonna have to move cap out somehow to make any additions and it'll likely have to involve us moving out a winger
  14. McDavid has one of the more low-key personalities in the league and folks wanna think he's a cancer? Most of the hubbub surrounding him is fan and media driven, dude just wants to play hockey, it's what sparks him Not his or Draisaitl's fault that Oilers management have seemingly been inept for years
  15. Probs, they're a mess Be interesting to see where he ends up, I haven't really read anything about him being linked to other teams If he's willing to sign cheap I imagine there'd be at least one or two other teams interested
  16. So what you're saying is Bear back to Edmonton so he can save their defense e5
  17. Sean Walker is a pending UFA D who could slot in given our injuries, but even then, not all that interesting Nobody on Philly seems all that interesting tbh The forwards I'd be interested in would probably cost too much and I'm more concerned about our D
  18. They're both up the same year and I have a hard time seeing us keeping both, ideally we have someone to promote from within by then A Hoglander, Podz, ect If Boeser can keep it going he's likely the one who stays imo
  19. Maybe not, but the players he'd be trying to replace also have talent and experience, difference is they've been getting games and practices in. It's not that I think he's forgotten how to play, I just question how effective he'll be coming into the season cold, it's been a while since he's played games.
  20. CBJ have a trio of young centers now in Fantilli, Johnson, and Sillinger. Sure, one could slide over to wing but Fantilli likely bumps both Johnson and Sillinger down as far as young potential centers go. Sillinger is off to a decent start but I could see them being open to moving him if a deal made sense. Caveat is his being born in Columbus, but given he's Canadian I question how much that actually matters. Sillinger has 8 points in 20 NHL games this season, Johnson has 3 in 8. Looks like Johnson is currently playing AHL hockey though. 14 points in 8 games with the Cleveland Monsters. I'd be open to acquiring either but I do think it's more likely they opt to keep Johnson over Sillinger considering he put up 40 points in 79 NHL games last season.
  21. You're more likely to get Sillinger out of CBJ than Johnson imo.
  22. Even if they sign him I don't think I'd expect much, he'd be coming in cold having not played meaningful games in a long while. Not sure he'd be better than the depth guys we already have, guys who have been playing games. All the best to him with his health though of course.
