  1. I'm mostly entertained tbh, good for him If it works out best for both sides, fantastic
  2. Maybe, but realizatically this Florida team may simply be the best team he's played on ever Aside from a brief good stretch the Coyotes have historically been pretty lousy and we weren't good while he was here Could be reinvigorated
  3. Yup, a partner can make all the difference if playstyles are complimentary
  4. I think he was miscast, we already had a primary OD in Hughes A lot of it is probably systems too, how Florida plays their team game He stepped into a team that was already good, he was brought here by Benning when he was trying to make the team good We made some pretty solid additions this offseason, but while he was here he was part of a mediocre D core Could be a synergy thing, if he's had partners that suit his game more in Florida it could make all the difference It's a weird thing, it's not even like he's been insulated by Ekblad and Montour most of the season as they were injured
  5. I dunno, if they could get a legit top 4D for Kuzmenko I think it'd be worth at least considering Depends in who it was and their contract Boeser looks like the better player right now and we may have to pick between the two of them at some point anyway Their contracts both expire the same year and it's easier to find top six wingers than top 4D, could be way have someone able to step in by then I'm not proposing it, I'm just maybe more receptive depending in the return Same goes for Boeser, if we want something good we may have to give up something good
  6. Probably at least a 2nd, but I'd be a bit surprised if they gave up on Romanov this early considering they gave up the 13OA in 2022 for him I think they'd probably prefer a prospect over a pick though, picks don't help them compete now Hoglander + Raty maybe? I'm just spitballing We'd also have to juggle the cap, Romanov has a 2.5M cap hit I just don't see it, Isles aren't as strong on LD as they are RD and Romanov is a cost controlled RFA I think they're supposedly dangling Wahlstrom
  7. Do you think it's too late to bring Koltsov over, maybe Shirokov We like Russians right?
  8. PK Subban thinks Jordan Subban is going to be the best Subban brother, he's gonna be our answer on D
  9. Agreed, they're two points out of a playoff spot and have a couple games on Seattle. Unlike Edmonton they're very much in the mix, the west is still pretty wide open. Only teams that are starting to run away with point leads are Vegas, LA, Dallas, and ourselves, but it's a long season. If they can maintain a competitive pace it may contribute to them being able to retain a UFA or two. Zadorov wants out but I wouldn't be surprised if they were able to retain Lindholm. If they fall off they can re-evaluate later.
  10. I still think they move their UFA's if they can't extend them, but if they can maintain what's been a pretty solid level of play going forward I think they'll be looking for more lateral moves as opposed to pure futures. Calgary doesn't have the prospect depth or the organizational depth to lose a Hanifin or Lindholm for nothing. So more along the lines of.. want Hanifin? Give us a top quality young D prospect or NHL'er+. Want Lindholm? We want a young NHL center or a top notch center prospect+. I think the returns for Tanev and Zadorov may be more lateral but the pieces coming back wouldn't be as top notch. Want Tanev or Zadorov? We want as a good a package as we can get, picks and prospects can be integrated into the lineup or used as trade currency, a young NHL'er with term+ might work too. I think it's more likely we see Calgary look to reload as opposed to looking for futures in terms of picks. Them wanting a top prospect for Zadorov works along these lines. If they could get Knies or Minten+ out of Toronto for example that'd be something that might work.

  12. Jackets could be in the mix for Celebrini with San Jose Anyone but Chicago, they don't need a top three pick
  13. In all seriousness though, they'll likely be tethered to each other for most of their careers by fans given how phenomenal they both are and their Calder rankings. Quinn just pulled of a pretty crazy stat but Makar is right behind him, needs three points in two games to do it too. Considering they play us and a lousy Minnesota team next there's a strong chance he does it too. That isn't a knock on us, the Avs simply score goals and I'm not expecting us to shut them out: they're third in goals scored, fourth in shots on goal per game and they're twelfth in shooting percentage. Only knock offensively is their powerplay, tied for nineteenth. Wild on the other hand, they're on a five game losing streak and the Avs likely roast em.
  14. They just traded for him in February, seems unlikely they'd move him Feb. 28, 2023 Edmonton Oilers Acquire: Mattias Ekholm ($250,000 retained - 4%) · $6,000,000 2024 6th round pick (NSH) Sum: $6,000,000 Change: +$1,500,000 Nashville Predators Acquire: Tyson Barrie · $4,500,000 Reid Schaefer · $0 (AHL/JR) 2023 1st round pick (EDM - #24 - Tanner Molendyk) 2024 4th round pick (EDM) Sum: $4,500,000 Change: -$1,500,000
  15. Dude really fumbled the bag in Dallas, him playing through pain would explain some of his level of play though He's never been great defensively but I don't remember him being this bad either
  16. Makar has two games to get three points and do it as well, they play us next and then a floundering Minnesota squad so there's a good chance he does it
  17. Agreed, he has tenure on his side and he's also more likely to play ball with the Canucks imo
