  1. They aren't the only NHL team to utilize the same name for their affiliate but it's stupid that the others do as well. I really liked Abbotsford Aviators, even Abbotsford Millionaires would have been better. Aeros could have worked too. They could have gone with so many different names and themes, but no, they had to go with Abbotsford Canucks.
  2. Just have them go to Abbotsford, that's where the Canucks play after all thanks to management and ownership being dumb enough to give their AHL franchise the same name as their NHL franchise
  3. Some folks write him off for fronting what started as a pop punk band but Deryck legit has some fantastic vocals and he's become a better singer with age
  4. Is the predict the score thing happening on CFF or did it fall by the wayside

Or maybe I wore 13 when I created my CDC account in 2007, switched to 29 (better goalie number and my birthday) a few years later, but never updated my CDC username until the switch to CFF?

@Goalie29 nah, doesn't sound plausible... :hurhur:

(Can't wait for the season to start and the predict the score threads to appear!  Thanks for running them!)

@Goalie29- thanks in advance for all of the work in running the contest - makes the games a little more fun

  5. Seems fair, Oil and Leafs rely on their firepower up front and they've got quite a bit. Sens have some fantastic young talent up front and Giroux can still produce. Could easily see Tarasenko flourishing in Ottawa's top six. We lost Bo and that was a hit to our offense, we got Hronek out of it but we never really replaced the goals lost up front. The guys we brought in during the offseason will likely help us be better defensively and they'll probably chip in offensively as well but it's likely our offense dips. Particularly if the team focuses more on it's defense and doesn't free wheel as much.
  6. Lending our superstar #1 RFA center to Västerås smh
  7. Kinda hoping three of San Jose, Anaheim, Philly, Columbus, Detroit or Montreal win the top three picks Just not Chicago again I swear to god
  8. He didn't actually, Elias Pettersson is actually forever tied to prestigious Canuck king Loui Eriksson Assisted on his first goal, was instrumental in being part of his first assist Long live king Loui https://www.hockey-reference.com/boxscores/201810030VAN.html
  9. Pouliot eh? Career high 71 games played as a Canuck in 17-18 Pouliot? 62 games in 18-19 Pouliot?
  10. And folks were worried we'd lose someone, ha. Our depth and fringe guys aren't good enough for someone to want to keep around on their big club.
  11. Tidy bit of work for Anaheim, just because they have the available cap space doesn't mean they have to spend it. He'll be a 25 year-old RFA when his deal is up and if he's proven his worth a bigger contract and the large cap hit he wants he'll get it. Wouldn't be surprised to see him prove he's worth it.
  12. It's easy to point towards coaching when discussing NHL'ers when they retire, it comes up pretty regularly, but in Sutter's case I could actually see it. He never really got to call his career on his own terms, if he'd never caught Covid he'd probably still be playing. His health took hockey from him, at least in the playing as an NHL'er sense. It's easy to see how getting into coaching or something like scouting could be a way for him to make the transition on his own terms, for him to continue his hockey journey in a different capacity. It's sad, all athletes wanna go out on their own terms if possible and his health largely made his choice for him.
  13. Are those player names or bottles of scotch
  14. I wish Sutter and his foundational balls all the best in retirement
