  1. That's exactly it, he's getting paid regardless. He'll also have the Canucks by the balls, who else are they going to play at 1C? Miller? Yeah, that'd bode will for having a lengthier window, sure. The Canucks aren't getting a 1C from another team or via UFA and they know it, Pettersson's camp also knows this. If the Canucks plan on contending at all within the next 3-5 years they can't afford to not pay Pettersson. Barzal got just over 9M, even if Petterson drops to within an 80-90 point range he probably still gets 10.5M or more, particularly given the cap will be rising. Barzal's career high is 85 points, he got that during his rookie year back in 17-18. Petterson just broke 100 points last season, he has that elusive three bracket production to point to and has the benefit of having done so recently.
  2. If the Avs wanted DeSmith I think they'd have just negotiated with Montreal, doesn't to try and get him from Vancouver I do think Martin could be claimed on waivers though, if only to be waived again by another organization at some point, depth is important
  3. Further illustrating Edler's body of work, if only because he's one of my all-time faves.. 11th all-time on the Canucks point list with 409, 11 behind Bo who finished with 420. Tops for a Canucks D ever, followed by Ohlund with 325. 4th in games played with 925, by and far the most a D has ever played. Harold Snepts and Mattias Ohlund are the only others to have broken the 700 gp mark as Canucks. Most goals by a Canucks D with 99, good for 31st all-time as far as Canucks and goal scoring go. 7th in all-time for assists with 310, 8th highest D is Kearns with 290. Eddie leads the pack for Canucks D. 10th in Canucks playoff points with 38 points in 82 games. Only Lumme is higher, sitting at number 7 with 40 points in 72 games. 8th in playoff assists with 30, Lumme had 31 and sits 7th. 4th in playoff games played behind Linden and the twins. If Hughes is here for as long as Eddie he may break all these records but the fact is right now Eddie has em, his records speak to his longevity as a Canuck.
  4. It's possible but I dunno, same goes for Bieksa. Both were popular players and personalities, particularly Bieksa, but I wonder if their Ducks tenure may not work against them a bit? Doesn't negate what they did as Canucks, certainly, but I dunno. Edler is a slam dunk though, broke many of Ohlund's D records as a Canuck, 925 games played. He'll continue to hold those records until Quinn eventually breaks some of them. Kes played 665 games, Juice played 597. Burr played 822. I'm still disappointed Eddie never hit 1k as a Canuck, he'd have been only the fourth player to have played that many games in a Canucks uniform.
  5. Maybe I'll come back and make more predictions later if I remember
  6. Tyler Myers will continue to be the main whipping boy on D despite improving upon last season
  7. Oil probably win this one then if we're not icing more regulars up front Could be a good chance to practice special teams in a game environment though, the Oil are likely to be a top powerplay team again this season
  8. It'd be cool to see him hit 1k as a Canuck but yeah, it's unlikely. He'll likely hit it somewhere else next season. Probs moves into the top 100 though.
  9. For real though. I grew up in a conservative Christian household and my only access to more secular music was through friends and settings that didn't involve my parents where a radio was present. All Killer No Filler dropped May 8th 2001, I'd have been a couple months short of my 11th birthday so I was 10-11 when I first heard it, but the video you posted was actually my introduction to Sum 41. I think we'd have been on summer break so I was probably 10, but a friend of mine played the video and I was hooked, Fat Lip was all over the radio and they were blowing up. My interest in music, particularly anything punk related, stems from that experience. It's not an exaggeration to say that Sum 41 was my first step towards being passionate about music.
