The curveball is whether Carolina's able to get Guentzel done before July 1st or not. But yeah, I don't think they're going to overextend themselves for Zadorov without knowing what they can do as far as top six forwards go.

Still working away at trying to get Stamkos done too

Big ask if he does stay healthy and play well, if management views us as being in our window they way folks say we are they'll probably opt to keep him.

We'll see, maybe not. But it certainly won't be cheap, factor in a couple more offseasons of cap increases and he could very well be an 8-9M tender. Are there reasons to be concerned because of his health in recent years? Absolutely, but if he can stay healthy and play like he did this season.. yeah, he's gonna get a big bag.

They've got about 19.5M, more if they can move out Ekblad's cap entirely They won't be able to keep everyone, but they should be able to keep the higher end guys Verhaeghe's deal not kicking in til after next season would help a bit

He's only got a season left, maybe he didn't plan on staying. If so, moving him out sooner than later gets them an asset sooner than later, and cap space sooner than later.
