  1. If he wants too much it'd make sense for him to be a trade candidate
  2. Depends on whether there's a player they really like, could be quite a projected difference between the guys they have at 7 and 12 I'm just spitballing, but Philly is a bit of a wildcard considering they ate 50% of Kevin Hayes's deal
  3. They wouldn't necessarily have to, they could simply buy Korpisalo out His buyout looks like 333k 833k 1.8M 2.3M 1.3M 1.3M 1.3M 1.3M Not a huge headache when factoring in future cap jumps, but perhaps more than the Senators feel like shelling out
  4. To Philly Korpisalo 7OA To Ottawa Petersen 12OA Ottawa drops 5 spots and buys their way out of Korpisalo's remaining term Ottawa flips the 12OA to Boston for Ullmark Ottawa buys out Peterson, whose buyout would look like this 1M 2M
  5. Ottawa's supposedly interested in Ullmark, but that ain't happening with Korpisalo in house
  6. If I had to guess I'd say it's probably either Chychrun or Korpisalo Maybe Ottawa pays up for a Korpisalo/Petersen swap Even if Petersen isn't the answer his deal is up after next season, Philly's currently burying him
  7. Who needs the cup final anyway, things are entertaining enough as is
  8. I was looking at Hakanpaa as the upgrade tbh. He averaged 18:38 with the Stars this season, but he also played the 5th most amount of time on the PK, averaging about 3:16 per game. https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl/seasons/nhl-defensemen-stats.html Agreed, he'd replace what Cole brought too.
  9. Ahh, you're right, it is three seasons. Clear win for Washington. A Kuemper buyout looks like.. 2.1M 3.6M 4.4M 900k 900k 900k
  10. Lindgren really impressed down the stretch, this is a good deal for the Caps. Works for LA too, even if he's not the answer Kuemper's deal is up in a couple seasons. They also save 3.25M in cap space right now.
  11. Teams wanna get their ducks in a row before the draft gets too close But yeah, they needed someone else to help Strome up front
  12. Haha, I was saying this kind of trade would make sense for Washington earlier this season, they need a top six center something fierce.
  13. Here's hoping, even if they're on the lower end it'd be nice to pick up a couple picks for guys who'll probably end up walking regardless.
  14. Particularly if they do opt to actually move out Trouba one way or another. Panarin's deal will be up soon too, be interesting to see what happens there. Kreider ain't getting any younger either despite his still being very productive, they may have to find a way to bring in offensive talent sooner than later.
  15. He's going to be entering his age 29-30 reason and doesn't have a track record of being that sort of defenseman at the NHL level. Maybe he's found another gear, or maybe he's just a player who had a fantastic playoff showing, wouldn't be the first. We'll see, but I'm not expecting him to regularly put up an 8 point in 13 game pace going forward. His ice time during his tenure in Calgary regularly had him playing as a 5D, but Calgary has also had a better defense (outside of our high end in Hughes) over the past few years. So yeah, he may very well get a larger opportunity here given our top 4 has more openings, but I'm not expecting him to suddenly transform into an offensive dynamo. If I were to be optimistic I'd say maybe he could hit 25-30 points depending on how he's deployed, which would be very welcome. But I'm expecting the Hughes and Hronek will probably get the lions share of offensive opportunities. I'm hoping management finds a way to add another top 4RD via UFA, that could eat into offensive opportunities as well. We'll see.
  16. Can Bustle Hedgegrow adequately play fourth line minutes? We might need a guy..
  17. Maybe, maybe not. I think this could be more about making space for a Lafrenière extension. Schneider is a pending RFA, they'll have to get Miller done before long too. Shesterkin too. Alternatively, they could simply try and retain one of Wennberg or Roslovic. But they may try and fish via UFA, I think there will be some good deals for forwards out there. I do think we'll probably end up having to pay to move him though.
  18. July's a little ways off, but we're getting there
  19. I wouldn't be surprised if the Canucks did try putting him on waivers, just to see
